Caixa Econômica Federal announced that contest 2955 of Mega of Virada, scheduled for December 31, 2025, will have a prize estimated at R$850 million. The value represents the largest amount ever offered in the history of the special modality. The increase occurs due to the change in the allocation of total bet revenue.
The draw maintains the tradition of being held on the last day of the year and does not accumulate for the next contest. Caso no one gets the six tens right, the prize is shared among those who guess correctly on the corner.
New rule increases main prize amount
The main change implemented by Caixa was the increase in the share allocated to the main prize. Anteriormente, 62% of the proceeds after discounts went to the winners of the six dozen.
Now, this percentage has risen to 90%. The measure concentrates almost all the revenue from bets on the maximum prize and explains the jump to R$850 million.
How the special draw works
The Mega of the Virada follows the same rules as the common Mega-Sena. The bettor marks 6 to 20 numbers on the 60 tens wheel.
The minimum bet value remains R$5.00. Sales start in November and end at 5pm on December 31st.
Available channels include lottery outlets, the Loterias Caixa app and the official portal.
Player probability and strategies
The chance of winning with a simple six-number bet is one in 50,063,860. The index did not change with the new division rule.
