Focus on flex hybrid vehicles

Toyota of Brasil concentrates investments in flex hybrid vehicle projects, a technology that combines electric engines with renewable fuels such as ethanol. The company already sells three models with this configuration on the national market, produced in its units in São Paulo.

This line of products meets the demand for more sustainable and efficient options, aligned with transport decarbonization goals. The new resources will allow advances in local production, including greater nationalization of components.

Toyota operations on Brasil

Toyota has been operating in Brasil since 1958, with headquarters in Sorocaba and production plants in three locations in the state of São Paulo. The company maintains parts distribution and logistics centers, employing more than seven thousand direct employees.

Its activities cover production, assembly, import and export of vehicles, engines and accessories, as well as technical assistance services.

The company is participating in a larger investment cycle, previously announced at R$11 billion until 2030, with an emphasis on capacity expansion and new flex hybrid models. Parte of these resources is already being applied to increase production by Sorocaba and Porto Feliz.

Porto Feliz drive recovery

The engine factory in Porto Feliz suffered significant damage due to heavy rain and intense winds in September 2025. The storm caused temporary disruptions to the country’s Toyota supply chain.

The financing approved by BNDES will directly contribute to the recovery and modernization works of this unit. The measure guarantees operational continuity and preservation of jobs in the region.
