MG Motor officially entered the competitive electric car market at Brasil with the launch of a new entry-level version for its hatchback, the MG4. The configuration, called Comfort, arrives with a suggested public price of R$ 169,990, positioning itself as a direct alternative to models already established in the segment, such as the BYD Dolphin Plus and the GWM Ora 03 GT.

The announcement marks a strategic step by SAIC Motor, controller of the British brand MG, to strengthen its presence in América Latina. The company is betting on a combination of aggressive pricing, a good equipment package and performance to attract Brazilian consumers looking to migrate to electric mobility without giving up performance and technology.

As part of the launch strategy, MG offers a special condition for the first buyers of the Comfort version. The offer includes the installation of a 7 kW wallbox at no additional cost, a significant incentive that aims to facilitate the home charging experience and add value to the vehicle purchase.

The other versions of the MG4 on the market

In addition to the new version Comfort, the MG4 line in the Brasil is complemented by two other options with different proposals. MSP modular technology and platform

All models in the MG4 line are built on the modern modular MSP (Scalable Modular Platform) platform, developed by SAIC Motor specifically for electric vehicles. Essa architecture was designed to optimize internal space and dynamic behavior.

One of the main features of the MSP platform is the extremely thin battery, just 110 mm high, which contributes to a lower center of gravity and improves vehicle stability.

The platform also allows for an ideal 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear axles, a factor that, combined with rear-wheel drive in the Comfort and Luxury versions, results in sportier and more precise handling.

This advanced technological base is one of the MG4’s differentiators, allowing the car to offer a superior driving experience compared to many competitors that use platforms adapted from combustion vehicles.

Equipment and safety on board

The Comfort version is well equipped from the factory, including LED headlights and taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch floating multimedia center with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. With a competitive product range and an aggressive expansion plan, MG seeks to consolidate itself as one of the main players in the growing Brasil electric vehicle market.

The importance of platform and drivability

The driving experience is one of the points that MG Motor highlights most in its communication about the MG4. Graças on the MSP platform with rear-wheel drive and balanced weight distribution, the electric hatchback offers driving dynamics reminiscent of classic European hot hatches. The steering response is direct and the body tilts little when cornering, conveying safety and agility to the driver. Esse foco na dirigibilidade é um diferencial importante em um segmento onde muitos veículos priorizam apenas o conforto e a eficiência, buscando atrair também o consumidor que valoriza o prazer ao dirigir.
