Nissan presented the Qashqai e-POWER 2026 at Austrália, marking the complete transition of the line to the series hybrid system. The model adopts exclusively electric wheel drive, while the 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine acts solely as a generator to recharge the battery, eliminating the need for external charging stations.

This configuration offers drivability similar to a pure electric vehicle, with linear acceleration and no gear interruptions. Sales are scheduled to begin in March 2026, with prices starting at A$45,640 for the entry-level ST-L version.

The launch responds to the Australian government’s new vehicle efficiency standards, which reduce CO2 emissions limits. The 2026 range eliminates petrol-only versions, making e-POWER standard across all configurations.

  • Combined consumption drops to4.1 liters per 100 km.
  • CO2 emissions are92 g/km, representing a reduction of around 18% compared to the previous generation.

5-in-1 hybrid system

The main innovation of the Qashqai e-POWER 2026 lies in the compact module that integrates five components into a single unit. Esse assembly includes the electric motor, generator, inverter, speed increaser and reducer.

This integration improves energy efficiency and reduces internal noise by up to 5.6 dB, providing greater refinement when driving. In Sport mode, the system gains a temporary boost of 10 kW for more agile responses.

Prices and available versions

The Nissan introduced the ST-L version as a new entry-level model, making the model more affordable despite its hybrid exclusivity. The suggested prices before additional costs look like this:

  • ST-L: 45,640 Australian dollars
  • Ti: 49,640 Australian dollars
  • Ti-L: 53,640 Australian dollars
  • N-Design: 54,140 Australian dollars

This structure represents an increase compared to previous gasoline versions, but includes more complete equipment as standard. The warranty offered is 10 years or 300 thousand km, subject to maintenance by an authorized network.

Extended standard equipment

All versions of the Qashqai e-POWER 2026 feature a robust connectivity and security package. Destaques include NissanConnect Services, wireless smartphone integration and 12.3-inch multimedia display.

The Nissan Intelligent Mobility Safety set features advanced driving assistants. Itens as a wireless charger for cell phones, dual-zone climate control and a 360-degree camera with special views, such as a transparent hood and intersections, complete the list.

  • Smart key with proximity locking
  • Digital surrounding monitoring
  • Expanded peripheral vision modes

Electric traction technology

The e-POWER system allows the Qashqai to always run with direct electric drive on the front wheels. The combustion engine operates at an optimized rate only to generate energy, recharging the battery without mechanical connection to the axle.

This approach eliminates the search for outlets and maintains the convenience of conventional gas station refueling. Regenerative recharging during braking contributes to the overall efficiency of the set.

Production with Australian components

Part of the key components of the e-POWER powertrain are manufactured at the Nissan plant in Dandenong South, in Austrália. Essa unit provides exclusive parts for all Qashqai e-POWER produced globally.

The strategy reinforces the local role in the brand’s electrification and maintains jobs in the Australian automotive industry. The model continues to be imported from the factory in Reino Unido, but with integration of technology produced in the country.

Efficiency and reduced emissions

The consumption and emissions figures of the Qashqai e-POWER 2026 stand out in the compact SUV segment. With 4.1 l/100 km in the combined cycle, the model meets the most stringent efficiency targets.

Emissions of 92 g/km of CO2 represent a significant improvement over previous standards. Essa performance contributes to compliance with Australian New Vehicle Efficiency Standard, effective since January 2026.
