The Indian manufacturer TVS

Built on an entirely new platform, the motorcycle stands out for its robust mechanical package and a sophisticated electronics package, which includes features normally found in higher categories. TVS’ strategy is to challenge models already consolidated in the Ásia, such as the KTM 250 Adventure and the Suzuki V-Strom SX, offering a product with aggressive technical specifications.

The launch price announced at Índia is ₹1.99 lakh rupees, a value that in direct conversion is equivalent to approximately R$14 thousand. Este posicionamento de preço competitivo, aliado à ficha técnica avançada, sinaliza a intenção da marca de conquistar uma fatia significativa do mercado de baixa-média cilindrada.

The RT-XD4 engine and the promise of performance

The heart of the new TVS Apache RTX 300 is its 299.1 cc single-cylinder engine, which represents a technological leap for the brand. Equipado with liquid cooling, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) and four valves, this engine was designed to deliver vigorous and efficient performance. The declared maximum power is 36 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, while torque reaches 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, numbers that place it at the top of its category in terms of performance. Para manage this force, the motorcycle has a six-speed transmission, which works together with an assisted and slipper clutch, a technology that prevents the rear wheel from locking during sudden downshifts and makes the lever actuation lighter. One of the big differences is the inclusion of a bidirectional quickshifter as standard, allowing up and down gear changes without the need to activate the clutch, which optimizes acceleration and provides more sporty and fluid riding, a rare feature on motorcycles of this size.

Embedded electronics sets new standard

TVS equipped the Apache RTX 300 with a complete electronics package, aiming to offer safety and adaptability to the driver.

The model has four selectable riding modes: Urban, Rain, Tour and Rally.

Each mode intelligently adjusts the response of the electronic throttle, the level of intervention of the traction control and the actuation of the ABS braking system, allowing the bike to behave optimally in different road conditions and riding styles.

Furthermore, the inclusion of autopilot as a standard item reinforces its vocation for long trips, providing more comfort on road stretches.

Structure and cycling for mixed use

The Apache RTX 300 chassis was developed to balance agility in urban traffic and stability on uneven terrain. The front suspension consists of an inverted fork (USD) with a 41 mm diameter, while the rear uses a monoshock system with a floating piston. Ambos the sets offer a travel of 180 mm, a measure that guarantees good impact absorption capacity without compromising drivability on asphalt, characterizing it as a true crossover.

With a curb weight of 180 kg and a fuel tank with a capacity of 12.5 liters, the motorcycle promises a good power-to-weight ratio and range suitable for adventures. The seat height of 835 mm and the light-alloy wheels, with 19-in front and 17-in rear, confirm its mixed-use proposal, favoring comfort and performance on paved roads, but without giving up the ability to safely tackle light trails.

Design and features for tourism

The design of the Apache RTX 300 is marked by aggressive and functional lines, inspired by the world of rallying.

The lighting system is entirely LED, ensuring excellent nighttime visibility and a modern look, with emphasis on the main headlight and daytime running lights (DRL).

Thinking about comfort and practicality for long journeys, TVS included adjustable levers and factory-integrated supports for installing side bags and top boxes.

Cutting-edge components

Safety is reinforced by the disc braking system on both wheels, managed by two-channel ABS.

The most complete versions of the model also offer fully adjustable suspension and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), increasing the motorcycle’s level of sophistication.

The dispute with strong rivals

Upon entering the market, the Apache RTX 300 positions itself as a direct competitor to important models. The Sua’s 36 hp output significantly surpasses that of rivals such as the Honda Sahara 300, which delivers 25.6 hp, and the Suzuki V-Strom SX, with 26.1 hp, establishing a new level of performance for the 300 cc category in the Asian market.

This performance difference, combined with the superior technological package, could be the decisive factor in attracting consumers looking for a more complete and powerful motorcycle without having to migrate to higher displacement and price categories.

Expectations for the global market

To date, TVS has not officially confirmed plans to export the Apache RTX 300 to markets outside of Ásia, including América Latina. However, the growing presence of the Indian brand in several countries, including Brasil, fuels the expectation that the model could be a strategic product for the company’s global expansion in the near future.
