Great Wall Motors (GWM) officially announced the arrival of the updated Haval H6 line, the SUV that leads sales in the mid-size hybrid segment in the Brasil. The launch, held in São Paulo, presents a vehicle with significant updates in design, technology and mechanical assembly, designed to meet the specific demands of the Brazilian consumer and reinforce its prominent position in the market.

The news comes at a strategic time, with the hybrid vehicle market recording growth of 40% over the last year, driven by greater environmental awareness and tax incentives. The Haval H6 is GWM’s main bet, which plans a series of other launches to consolidate its presence in the country, taking advantage of the production capacity of its new factory in Iracemápolis (SP).

The model hits the market in four different versions: HEV2, PHEV19, PHEV35 and the sporty GT. Prices were adjusted by up to R$5,000, with the entry-level version, HEV2, starting at R$223,000. Todas the configurations seek to balance performance and efficiency, offering powers ranging from 243 hp to an expressive 393 hp, depending on the engine chosen.

The visual changes that define the new SUV

GWM promoted a restyling focused on the front of the Haval H6 for the HEV2, PHEV19 and PHEV35 versions. The front grille has been completely redesigned, now made up of 87 blocks with a sophisticated 3D effect, giving the vehicle a more robust and imposing appearance. The lighting signature has also been updated, with a new set of LED lights that modernize the SUV’s visual identity.

At the rear, the manufacturer chose to keep the integrated taillights with a translucent finish, a feature that was well received by the Brazilian public. Pequenos details, such as the GWM logo with a matte finish on the trunk lid, complement the updates. The entry-level HEV2 version now comes equipped with 18-inch wheels and higher profile tires, a direct response to feedback from customers looking for greater comfort when driving on urban roads.

Enhanced cabin technology and comfort

The interior of the Haval H6 also received special attention, with the aim of increasing the perception of quality and the onboard experience. The dashboard and door finishes now feature a material that simulates brushed steel, adding a touch of refinement to the environment. The steering wheel, inherited from the premium model Wey 07, has a thicker grip, improving control and comfort while driving.

The big technological highlight is the new multimedia center, which has grown to 14.6 inches and has Full HD resolution. The Coffee OS 3 operating system was optimized for the Brazilian market, with reorganized menus that promise up to 30% faster responses. Connectivity is guaranteed with wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in addition to native 4G internet that allows remote updates (over-the-air).

The list of comfort equipment is extensive and includes dual-zone air conditioning and rain sensor in all versions. The instrument panel is fully digital, with a 10.25-inch screen, and the center console has been redesigned for greater practicality. Através from the MyGWM app, the owner can remotely monitor the battery level, plan routes and control various vehicle functions.

Hybrid engine: options and performance

The heart of the Haval H6, its mechanical assembly, has been improved to deliver more efficiency and superior drivability. The 1.5 turbo gasoline engine, which develops 150 hp, is now equipped with a water intercooler, variable oil pump and an electronic water pump. Essas changes optimize thermal management and engine lubrication, resulting in greater energy efficiency without changing final power. The suspension was also recalibrated specifically for Brazilian street and road conditions, with new shock absorbers and mechanical stops that better absorb road irregularities, providing a smoother and safer ride.

Another important innovation is in the braking system, which adopts an electronic actuator. Essa technology allows for a more progressive and controlled response, especially in emergency braking situations, increasing safety for all occupants. The Hi4 hybrid system, which intelligently combines combustion and electric engines, guarantees smooth transitions and excellent energy use. All-wheel drive is present in the PHEV35 and GT versions, with the front electric motor showing an efficiency of 97.5%, a notable number for the category.

Focus on safety and driver assistance

GWM equipped the Haval H6 with a robust active and passive safety package in all its versions, positioning it as a reference in the segment. The model comes standard with seven airbags, including a central airbag between the front seats for additional protection in side collisions. Além In addition, the vehicle has advanced driver assistance systems, such as autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keeping and centering assistant, and adaptive cruise control (ACC) with function Stop & Go, which allows the car to stop and start on its own in traffic. Facial recognition technology is another differentiator, capable of unlocking the vehicle and automatically adjusting the seat, mirrors and air conditioning settings for the registered driver. Para makes maneuvering easier, the SUV offers a 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors. The safety package is complemented by a real-time tire pressure monitor and a semi-autonomous driving assistant for highways, which takes over part of the steering and speed control on long journeys, reducing driver fatigue.

Pricing strategy and consumer versions

The Haval H6 line was structured to meet different consumer profiles, with a competitive price range. The HEV2 version, a full hybrid that does not require external recharging, is the entry-level option for R$223,000. Ela uses a 1.7 kWh battery and delivers 243 hp of combined power.

Moving up the range, the PHEV19 version is a plug-in hybrid with a 19 kWh battery, which costs R$248,000 and offers 326 hp of power. Esta configuration provides an electric range of 73 km, ideal for daily urban use without consuming gasoline.

The PHEV35 option, for R$288,000, increases the battery capacity to 35 kWh, increasing the purely electric range to 119 km, according to the Inmetro standard. The Esta version also has two electric motors, one on each axle, ensuring all-wheel drive.

At the top of the line is the GT version, priced at R$325,000. With its SUV coupe design and sporty appeal, it maintains the look of the previous line, but stands out for its performance, delivering 393 hp of power and all-wheel drive, positioning itself as the most powerful and dynamic option in the H6 family.

The importance of national production in Iracemápolis

Partial production of the Haval H6 at the Iracemápolis factory, opened in August, is a key pillar in GWM’s strategy for the Brasil. The industrial unit has the initial capacity to produce 20 thousand units per year, a volume that should increase according to demand. The main objective is to achieve a nationalization rate of 60% of components by the end of 2026, which will reduce dependence on imports and logistics costs.

This initiative not only strengthens the local economy, but also has a direct impact on the consumer. Nationalized production speeds up the availability of spare parts and tends to lower long-term maintenance costs. GWM has already established partnerships with around 100 Brazilian suppliers to create a robust and sustainable supply chain, including critical components such as braking and suspension systems.

After-sales maintenance and parts availability

Aware of the importance of after-sales for customer loyalty, GWM invested in expanding its parts distribution network. Atualmente, more than 40 items considered priority are now available at 15 dealerships across the country, ensuring faster service if necessary. Essa structure will be progressively expanded along with the dealership network.

The brand offers maintenance packages with fixed prices, with the annual cost for the HEV2 version being approximately R$1,200, covering oil and filter changes. The vehicle warranty is 5 years for the hybrid package, with no mileage limit, one of the longest on the market. Além In addition, the MyGWM app allows owners to schedule inspections, monitor parts wear and receive preventive maintenance alerts, such as checking the batteries every 10,000 km, whose useful life is designed to last 10 years.
