The Dacia redefines the standards for compact SUVs in the European market with the official presentation of the new Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 version. The model stands out for being the only one in its segment to combine an all-wheel drive system with an electric motor, a 48-volt mild-hybrid engine and dual-fuel power supply, using both gasoline and Gás Liquefeito of Petróleo (LPG).

This innovative configuration not only allows operation in electric mode under a variety of driving conditions, but also provides an impressive total range of up to 1,500 kilometers with both tanks full. The vehicle uses a 1.2 turbo three-cylinder engine that generates 140 horsepower, working in conjunction with a 31 horsepower rear electric motor.

The engineering solution was developed in-house by Dacia with the aim of maintaining the appeal of all-wheel drive SUVs without compromising CO2 emissions targets. The new Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is now available to order in several Europa markets, with prices starting at approximately 28 thousand euros, positioning it as an extremely competitive option in the current automotive scenario.

An innovative and versatile propulsion system

The heart of the Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is a complex and highly coordinated propulsion system designed to maximize both energy efficiency and off-road capability. The main engine is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo with 140 horsepower, integrated with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, which allows dual-fuel power supply with gasoline or LPG without the need for mechanical modifications. Complementando this set, a 31 horsepower electric motor, positioned on the rear axle, not only provides additional power but also acts as a generator during regenerative braking, recovering energy that would otherwise be lost. Esta electric unit has its own two-speed transmission, which optimizes performance at low speeds and allows complete decoupling to reduce friction when 4×4 traction is not required. The main transmission is a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, designed to provide smooth shifts and contribute to low fuel consumption, ensuring fluid and economical driving on any terrain.

Intelligent operation of hybrid 4×4 traction

The all-wheel drive system of the Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is activated electronically and instantly thanks to the dedicated electric motor on the rear axle. Under normal road driving conditions and at higher speeds, the vehicle operates in front-wheel drive, minimizing fuel consumption. However, the system continuously monitors grip conditions and, at the first sign of slipping, engages the rear axle in a matter of milliseconds, ensuring a quick and effective response.

This transition is imperceptible to the driver and guarantees maximum safety on slippery surfaces or rough terrain. Electronic management constantly optimizes the use of each engine to offer the best combination of performance and economy, dynamically adapting to the demands of the route and driving style, which makes the vehicle extremely versatile and reliable.

Improved off-road capability

The presence of the electric motor on the rear axle offers a significant advantage by providing instant torque to improve traction on low-grip surfaces such as mud or sand. Essa immediate response allows more precise control in challenging situations, maintaining the off-road characteristics that have established the line.

Record autonomy and optimized consumption

The Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 records an average approved consumption that varies between 5.5 and 5.6 liters per 100 km when operating on gasoline.

When using LPG, consumption shows a slight increase, ranging from 7.1 to 7.2 liters per 100 km, due to the lower energy density of this fuel.

The combination of two tanks, each with a capacity of 50 liters, one for gasoline and the other for LPG, guarantees an impressive combined range that can reach 1,500 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.

CO2 emissions range between 116 and 126 g/km, in compliance with strict Euro 6e-bis standards, positioning the model as an environmentally conscious alternative in the all-wheel drive vehicle category.

Driving modes and technological interior

The model offers specific driving modes that adjust the behavior of the propulsion and traction system. Auto mode automatically balances efficiency and performance, adapting to road conditions.

The Eco mode prioritizes fuel economy, ideal for urban and long highway journeys. Para difficult terrain, Neve mode optimizes traction on slippery surfaces.

The Lama/Sand mode adjusts traction control for loose terrain, ensuring greater grip and safety. The interior of the Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 has received important updates, with robust finishes and materials designed to withstand intense use.

The center console is dominated by an infotainment screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The digital instrument panel displays hybrid system-specific information, such as real-time energy flow, battery charge level and active traction mode, allowing the driver to monitor the efficiency of the package.

Exclusive competitive advantages in the market

Currently, no other manufacturer in the compact SUV segment offers the combination of a mild-hybrid engine, dual-fuel LPG power and 4×4 traction with a rear electric motor. Essa exclusivity attracts consumers concerned about both operating costs and increasing emissions restrictions in European cities.

The battery self-charging system eliminates range anxiety typical of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, offering total practicality in everyday life. With this configuration, Dacia reinforces its brand image that offers intelligent, robust and excellent cost-benefit solutions, consolidating its position in an increasingly demanding market.

Prices and strategic positioning at Europa

Prices for the Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 start at 28,500 euros for the entry-level version Expression in selected European markets. The most equipped configurations, such as the Extreme and Journey, increase the value to around 30 thousand euros, offering items such as a 360-degree camera and lane keeping assistant.

The Dacia positions the model as an affordable option for consumers who are looking for an all-wheel drive vehicle, but do not want to compromise on energy efficiency and low operating costs, filling an important gap in the current SUV market.
