The Dacia redefines the standards for compact SUVs in the European market with the official presentation of the new Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 version. The model stands out for being the only one in its segment to combine an all-wheel drive system with electric motorization, 48-volt mild-hybrid propulsion and dual-fuel power, using both gasoline and Gás Liquefeito of Petróleo (LPG).

This innovative configuration allows the vehicle to operate in electric mode in a variety of driving conditions, providing a remarkable total range that can reach 1,500 kilometers when both tanks are full. The SUV uses a 1.2 turbo three-cylinder engine that generates 140 horsepower, working in conjunction with a 31 horsepower rear electric motor.

The engineering solution was developed in-house by Dacia with the aim of maintaining the attractiveness of all-wheel drive SUVs without compromising CO2 emissions targets. The new Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is now available for order in several European markets, with prices starting from approximately 28 thousand euros, positioning itself as an extremely competitive option in the current scenario.

An innovative and versatile propulsion system

The heart of the Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is a complex and highly coordinated propulsion system designed to maximize both energy efficiency and off-road capabilities. The main engine is a 140-horsepower 1.2 three-cylinder turbo, integrated with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, which allows dual-fuel power supply with gasoline or LPG without the need for mechanical modifications. The 31 horsepower electric motor, positioned on the rear axle, not only provides additional power, but also acts as a generator during regenerative braking, recovering energy that would otherwise be lost. Esta electric drive is equipped with its own two-speed transmission, which optimizes performance at low speeds and allows complete decoupling to reduce friction when 4×4 traction is not required. The main transmission is a six-speed automated dual-clutch gearbox, designed to ensure smooth shifts and contribute to reducing fuel consumption.

Intelligent operation of 4×4 hybrid traction

The all-wheel drive system of the Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is activated electronically and instantly, thanks to the dedicated electric motor on the rear axle. Under normal road driving conditions and at higher speeds, the vehicle operates in front-wheel drive, minimizing fuel consumption. The system, however, constantly monitors grip conditions and, at the first sign of slipping, engages the rear axle in a matter of milliseconds. Essa transition is imperceptible to the driver and guarantees maximum safety on slippery surfaces or uneven terrain.

In urban driving cycles, the system is capable of operating in all-electric mode up to 60% of the time, using only the rear engine. Essa functionality not only significantly reduces emissions in urban areas, but also improves acoustic comfort at low speeds, ensuring a quieter and smoother drive. Electronic management continuously optimizes the use of each engine to offer the best combination of performance and economy, intelligently adapting to driving style and road conditions.

Record autonomy and optimized consumption

The Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 records an average approved consumption that varies between 5.5 and 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers when operating on gasoline.

When using LPG, consumption shows a slight increase, remaining in the range of 7.1 to 7.2 liters per 100 kilometers, due to the lower energy density of this fuel.

The combination of two tanks of 50 liters each, one for gasoline and the other for LPG, guarantees an impressive combined range that can reach 1,500 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.

Enhanced off-road capabilities and driving modes

The presence of the electric motor on the rear axle offers a notable advantage on low-grip terrain such as mud or sand, providing instant torque to improve traction.

This immediate response allows for more precise control in challenging situations, maintaining the off-road characteristics that have established the Duster line.

The model offers specific driving modes that adjust the behavior of the propulsion and traction system, such as the Auto mode, which automatically balances efficiency and performance.

Other options include Eco mode, which prioritizes fuel economy; the Snow, which optimizes traction on slippery surfaces; and Mud/Sand, which adjusts traction control for loose terrain.

Technological and functional interior

The cabin of the Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 has received important updates, with robust finishes and materials designed to withstand intense use. The center console is dominated by an infotainment screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The digital instrument panel displays information specific to the hybrid system, such as real-time energy flow, battery charge level and active traction mode, allowing the driver to monitor the efficiency of the package.

Exclusive competitive advantages in the market

No other manufacturer in the compact SUV segment currently offers the combination of a mild-hybrid engine, dual-fuel LPG power and 4×4 traction with a rear electric motor. Essa exclusivity attracts consumers concerned about both operating costs and increasing emissions restrictions in European cities.

The battery’s self-recharging system eliminates the range anxiety typical of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, offering total practicality in everyday life. With this configuration, Dacia reinforces its brand image that delivers intelligent, robust and excellent cost-benefit solutions.

Prices and positioning at Europa

Prices for the Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 start from 28,500 euros for the entry-level Expression version in selected European markets. The most equipped configurations, such as the Extreme and Journey, increase the value to around 30 thousand euros, offering items such as a 360-degree camera and lane keeping assistant. The Dacia positions the model as an affordable option for consumers looking for a four-wheel drive vehicle, but do not want to compromise on energy efficiency and low operating costs, filling an important gap in the current market.
