Dacia officially presented at Europa the new version Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4, a model that establishes a new paradigm in the compact SUV segment. The vehicle stands out for its unprecedented mechanical configuration, which combines all-wheel drive, an electric motor, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and dual-fuel power supply, compatible with gasoline and Gás Liquefeito of Petróleo (GPL).
This advanced technological combination allows the SUV to operate in electric mode in a variety of driving situations, resulting in remarkable energy efficiency. With both fuel tanks full, the vehicle achieves a total range of up to an impressive 1,500 kilometers, a record for the category.
Engineering development was carried out in-house by Dacia, with the aim of maintaining the relevance of four-wheel drive SUVs whilst meeting stringent CO2 emissions targets. The model is now available for order in several European countries, with a competitive price that positions it as one of the most attractive options on the market.
A versatile and innovative propulsion system
The mechanical set of the Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is led by a 1.2 three-cylinder turbo engine. Este propellant works together with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, which optimizes consumption and allows the use of both gasoline and LPG without the need for adaptations.
All-wheel drive is guaranteed by a 31 horsepower electric motor positioned on the rear axle. Essa unit not only provides additional power when needed, but also functions as a generator during regenerative braking, recovering energy to the battery and increasing system efficiency.
Intelligent hybrid 4×4 traction operation
The all-wheel drive system of the new Duster is electronically activated, ensuring instantaneous response thanks to the electric motor dedicated to the rear axle. Under normal driving conditions, such as on paved roads and at cruising speeds, the vehicle operates in front-wheel drive to minimize fuel consumption.
However, the system constantly monitors road grip conditions. Upon detecting the slightest sign of loss of traction or slipping of the front wheels, the rear axle engages within milliseconds, an imperceptible transition for the driver that ensures maximum safety.
In urban environments, the technology allows the SUV to operate in all-electric mode for up to 60% of the time, using only the rear engine. Isso drastically reduces pollutant emissions and improves acoustic comfort, providing quieter driving at low speeds.
Record autonomy and optimized consumption
The Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 has an average approved consumption that varies between 5.5 and 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers when fueled with gasoline. Este number positions it as one of the most efficient vehicles in its category, especially when considering its 4×4 traction capacity.
When using Gás Liquefeito of Petróleo (LPG), consumption registers a slight increase, remaining in the range of 7.1 to 7.2 liters per 100 km. Essa difference is due to the lower energy density of gas compared to gasoline, but it still represents a significant economic advantage in the cost per kilometer driven.
The vehicle is equipped with two fuel tanks, each with a capacity of 50 liters, one for gasoline and the other for LPG. Essa configuration is the secret behind the impressive combined range of up to 1,500 kilometers, calculated on the WLTP cycle.
The model’s CO2 emissions are between 116 and 126 g/km, values that comply with strict European standards Euro 6e-bis. Isso reinforces the positioning of the Duster as a more environmentally conscious alternative in the competitive all-wheel drive SUV segment.
Enhanced off-road capability and driving modes
The off-road performance of the Duster is significantly improved by the presence of the electric motor on the rear axle. Ele provides instant torque, which improves traction on low-grip surfaces such as mud, sand or snow. Essa immediate response allows for more precise control of the vehicle in adverse situations, maintaining the off-road characteristics that have consolidated the model’s reputation and making it even more capable of facing challenging terrain. The main transmission is a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox designed for smooth and efficient shifting.
Para adapts the vehicle’s behavior to different conditions, the Duster offers specific driving modes. “Auto” mode automatically manages the balance between efficiency and performance, while “Eco” mode prioritizes fuel economy. For more demanding situations, the “Snow” and “Mud/Sand” modes adjust the traction control to optimize grip on slippery or loose surfaces, ensuring that the driver always has maximum control and safety.
Technological interior and connectivity
The cabin of the Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 has received important updates to reflect its advanced technology, with more robust finishes and materials designed to withstand intense use, whilst maintaining the brand’s characteristic practicality. The center console is dominated by a modern infotainment screen, fully compatible with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems, ensuring full connectivity and access to navigation and music apps. The instrument panel is digital and displays crucial information specific to the hybrid system, such as the real-time energy flow between the engines and the battery, the charge level of the 48V system battery and the traction mode that is currently active. Esses data allows the driver to monitor the efficiency of the mechanical set and adapt his driving style to make the most of the onboard technology, optimizing fuel consumption and range.
Competitive advantages in the European market
The new Dacia Duster Hybrid-G 150 4×4 is uniquely positioned on the European market, as no other manufacturer in its segment offers the combination of a mild-hybrid engine, dual-fuel power supply with LPG and a 4×4 traction system with rear electric motor. With prices starting at 28,500 euros, it becomes an affordable and extremely versatile option.
