Suzuki presented the new Across for the European market, an SUV that uses the platform and technology of the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid. The model arrives with a combined power of 302 hp and electrified all-wheel drive, maintaining characteristics practically identical to the equivalent of the Toyota. The launch took place in Países Baixos and expansion to other countries from Europa is planned for the coming months.
The vehicle adopts the look of the Adventure version of the RAV4, known as the Woodland Edition in some markets. Essa choice facilitates the integration of the larger Suzuki emblem into the front grille without significant changes to the original design.
Full compatibility with accessories developed for the RAV4 represents a practical advantage for owners. The model measures 4,600 mm in length and comes equipped with 18-inch wheels in a dark gray finish.
Robust and functional exterior design
The new Across stands out for its adventurous style, with sharp lines and plastic protection around the body. The redesigned front grille accommodates the Suzuki logo in a natural way, preserving the visual identity of the Japanese brand.
Color options are limited to four shades: Massive Gray, Ever Rest, Super White and Attitude Black. Essa restricted palette prioritizes sober tones that match the SUV’s premium positioning.
- Lower protections in black plastic;
- Functional roof bars;
- Full-LED headlights with distinctive light signature;
- Rear view mirrors with integrated turn signal repeaters.
These elements reinforce the proposal for versatile use, both in urban environments and on secondary roads.

Technological interior with a focus on comfort
The cabin of the Across maintains the layout of the RAV4, with only the steering wheel displaying the Suzuki emblem. The Japanese brand chooses to maintain the proven ergonomics of the original model.
The panel features a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 12.9-inch multimedia center with an updated interface. The head-up display projects essential information onto the windshield, improving active safety.
Among the series items, the following stand out:
- Wireless charging for smartphones;
- Five USB-C ports distributed throughout the cabin;
- Heated and electrically adjustable seats;
- Finished in soft-touch materials in the contact areas.
The interior space accommodates five occupants comfortably, offering good trunk volume even with the hybrid system battery.
Exclusive plug-in hybrid powertrain
The Suzuki chose to offer the Across only in the plug-in hybrid configuration, eliminating the conventional hybrid version available on the RAV4. The mechanical package combines a 2.5 gasoline engine with two electric motors, delivering 302 hp of total power.
The E-CVT transmission directs power to all four wheels via the E-Four system. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, a performance close to that of the RAV4 PHEV.
Driving modes include Normal, Eco, Sport and Trail, adapting the powertrain response to the conditions of use. The larger capacity battery allows an estimated electric range of up to 100 km via the WLTP cycle, depending on conditions.
This configuration meets the most stringent emissions requirements in the Europa. Combined consumption is extremely low when the vehicle is recharged regularly.
Advanced assistance and safety systems
The driving assistance package is complete, including adaptive cruise control with stop&go function. The lane keeping system acts proactively at highway speeds.
Automatic emergency braking detects pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles at intersections. Blind spot monitoring alerts the driver using signals in the rear view mirrors.
Other important features:
- Automatic parking assistant;
- 360-degree camera with panoramic view;
- Traffic sign recognition;
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
These technologies contribute to maximum classification in European safety tests.
Market strategy at Europa
The arrival of the new Across reinforces the strategic partnership between Suzuki and Toyota on the European continent. The collaboration allows Suzuki to offer a competitive midsize SUV without developing its own platform.
The model positions itself against established rivals in the plug-in hybrid SUV segment. Entre’s main competitors are Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail, Peugeot 5008 and Volkswagen Tayron.
The debut took place in the Países Baixos, with gradual expansion to other markets throughout 2026. Prices have not yet been released, but they should be close to those charged by the previous generation.
Technical details and practicality
The Across measures 4,600 mm in length, with a generous wheelbase that guarantees ample internal space. The height in relation to the ground allows moderate off-road use without compromising stability.
The battery capacity of 22.7 kWh allows recharging at public stations or at home wallboxes. Full charge time varies between 4 and 7 hours depending on available power.
E-Four traction automatically distributes torque between the axles using electric motors. Esse system improves traction on low-grip surfaces without complex mechanical components.
The trunk maintains useful volume even with the battery installed under the floor. The 60/40 folding seat configuration increases versatility for transporting larger objects.
Suzuki-Toyota partnership and global context
The collaboration between the two Japanese brands allows for the sharing of advanced technologies. The Suzuki benefits from the development of hybrid powertrains by the Toyota, a global reference in the segment.
This strategy has already resulted in other models shared in different regions. Na Europa, the focus on electrification meets the CO2 reduction targets established by União Europeia.
The Across represents the continuation of a successful formula started in 2020. The update follows the evolution of the RAV4, maintaining competitiveness in the most competitive segment of the market.
Suzuki focuses its efforts on efficient vehicles to consolidate its presence on the continent. The plug-in hybrid model attracts consumers looking for lower operating costs and regional tax benefits.
