Tóquio’s newest tourist attraction was revealed to the public and the press this Wednesday (26), marking a historic moment for fans of the pocket monster franchise. Localizado in the city of Inagi, within the Yomiuriland amusement complex, the development offers a different proposal from traditional theme parks, prioritizing environmental exploration and sensory interaction.

The space, officially called PokéPark Kanto, occupies a total area of approximately 2.6 hectares. The project was developed to create a symbiosis between the fictional universe of the games and the region’s natural vegetation, divided into two main zones that offer complementary experiences to visitors: one focused on exploration and the other on services and coexistence.

Concept of immersion in nature and exploration

Unlike attractions focused on roller coasters or cutting-edge indoor technology, the central purpose of this new area is to allow guests to search for Pokémon in a “wild” environment. The main attraction is a hiking trail of approximately 500 meters, located within a wooded area that preserves the local topography.

During the journey through the forest, fans can find statues and representations of various creatures hidden among the trees and bushes. The idea is to replicate the feeling of being a coach on a journey, encouraging close observation of the scenery and providing an organic discovery experience, suitable for families and groups of all ages.

The infrastructure was planned to be accessible, allowing strollers and wheelchairs to travel along most of the route. Isso reinforces the park’s commitment to being an inclusive destination, where the barrier between the digital and physical world is dissolved through the natural landscape.

Commercial structure and living areas

In addition to the exploration trail, the complex has an area dedicated to entertainment and commerce, called Snakestalk City. Este sector functions as the urban meeting point within the park, offering specialized stores and food outlets that follow the franchise’s theme.

In this area, visitors have access to exclusive products that are not found in other brand stores, as well as items commemorating the opening. The architecture of the place was designed to facilitate the flow of people, serving as a resting area after walking along the nature trail, maintaining the playful atmosphere through detailed decorations.

Presentation event and future expectations

To celebrate the completion of the works and present the space to the media, a special event was held including a parade of mascots. Personagens icons such as Pikachu and Eevee toured the new facilities, demonstrating how the characters will interact with the public in the day-to-day operations.

The management of Yomiuriland and The Pokémon Company highlighted that this is the franchise’s first permanent outdoor park in Japão. The expectation is that the place will become a reference point for both domestic and international tourism, attracting thousands of visitors eager for a more contemplative experience integrated with the environment.

Official opening dates for the general public and details on ticket sales will be announced in the coming days. The initiative reinforces the brand’s expansion strategy beyond consoles, occupying physical spaces that promote health, movement and contact with nature.
