Romanian automaker Dacia has officially updated its compact models for the European market, bringing significant changes to the engine and equipment package. The highlight of the renovation is the introduction of a new mechanical configuration that combines greater power with energy efficiency, meeting new demands for reduced emissions and comfort in urban driving.

The visual changes accompany the news under the hood, with the adoption of the brand’s new visual identity throughout the front grille and finishing details. The company’s strategy aims to maintain competitiveness in the entry-level segment, offering more technology without drastically increasing costs for the end consumer, a historical characteristic of the manufacturer.

Specifications of the new mechanical assembly

The heart of the new range is the 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine, now calibrated to deliver 120 horsepower when fueled with Gás Liquefeito of Petróleo (LPG). Esta configuration surpasses the previous gasoline-only version, which delivered around 100 horsepower, ensuring safer overtaking and better response on roads.

Total autonomy is one of the project’s strengths, thanks to the installation of two separate fuel tanks. The gasoline tank holds 50 liters, while the gas tank has been enlarged to 49.6 liters, allowing the model to reach impressive mileage figures without the need for frequent refueling.

According to the data released, the conventional version of the hatch can travel up to 1,590 kilometers combining both fuels. Já the adventurous variant, due to the greater ground height and aerodynamic drag, has a slightly shorter range, but still significant, reaching 1,480 kilometers with full tanks.

Transmission and driving comfort

For the first time in this specific fuel configuration, the brand offers a six-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. The replacement of the manual transmission aims to attract buyers looking for more comfort in the heavy traffic of large European cities, eliminating the need for constant gear changes.

The transmission system has been optimized to work in harmony with the torque of the gas engine, providing smooth shifts and keeping the engine in the ideal speed range. Testes initials indicate that the new gearbox contributes to reducing noise and vibrations at cruising speeds.

Enhanced technology and security

The interior of the vehicles received updates to the infotainment system, with screens that can reach 10 inches in the most complete versions. Connectivity has been enhanced with the inclusion of wireless mirroring for smartphones, facilitating the use of navigation and music applications.

In terms of safety, the 2026 line complies with strict European standards with the inclusion of new driving assistants (ADAS). The package includes autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, driver fatigue alert and a “black box” for recording data in the event of accidents.

Pricing and future versions

Sales begin with competitive prices for the continent’s standard, starting at 13,490 euros for the entry-level version with the simplest engine. Configurations equipped with the new 120 horsepower engine and automatic transmission will have starting prices of around 17,000 euros, varying depending on the chosen finish level.

For the second half of the year, the manufacturer confirmed the launch of a full hybrid variant. Este future model will combine a 1.8 combustion engine with two electric motors, totaling 155 horsepower combined, positioning itself as the top-of-the-line option in terms of performance and efficiency.
