The Volkswagen officially announced the arrival of the Teramont Pro to the Asian market, positioning the model as the brand’s new reference in large sports utility vehicles. The vehicle debuts with the strategic mission of replacing the Atlas, incorporating significant advances in digitalization and mechanical efficiency through modern architecture that defines the German automaker’s next steps.

The exterior design reflects the company’s new visual identity, standing out for elements that reinforce robustness and technology. Entre the main aesthetic and dimensional characteristics, the model features an illuminated front grille integrated with LED headlights with a “C” signature, a total length of more than 5 meters to maximize internal space, a wheelbase of 2,980 mm ensuring comfort for seven occupants and bumpers designed to optimize aerodynamics.

Changes in engine and platform

One of the most impactful changes occurs under the hood, where the manufacturer chose to discontinue the traditional naturally aspirated V6 engine in favor of greater energy efficiency. The new mechanical set adopts the fifth generation of the 2.0 turbo EA888 engine, which delivers a power of 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, in line with global environmental standards for emissions and consumption.

Power transmission is managed by an automatic transmission calibrated to work in tune with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system. Essa configuration promises to maintain the robust performance expected of an SUV of this size, offering torque at low speeds and more economical driving compared to its predecessor, ensuring agility both on urban routes and on roads.

Embedded technology and market positioning

The interior has been completely redesigned to prioritize the digital experience, eliminating most physical buttons in favor of a clean, connected interface. The main dashboard houses three high-resolution screens, functioning as a command center for entertainment and navigation, while the finish uses soft-touch materials to elevate the perception of luxury and comfort for all passengers.

With sales scheduled to start in April in the Asian market, the model seeks to face direct competitors such as Hyundai Palisade and Honda Pilot. The pricing strategy places the vehicle between $40,000 and $55,000, depending on option packages, consolidating its position as a versatile and technologically up-to-date family option, ready to receive future software updates via the cloud.
