Apple this week released the second beta version for developers of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, watchOS 11.4, tvOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4. The updates arrive about a week after the first betas and bring refinements to artificial intelligence features, stability fixes and small interface changes. The main focus remains on expanding the Apple Intelligence to more devices, with a highlight on the Visual Intelligence now accessible on previous models like the iPhone 15 Pro.

Betas allow developers to test app compatibility and report issues before the public launch expected in early April. Apple maintains the rapid pace of updates, ensuring that new features reach developers first for refinement.

Main new features identified in beta 2

  • Expanded support for Visual Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro via action button or Centro from Controle
  • Appearance of the Apple Vision Pro app on App Store for iPhone and iPad
  • New controls dedicated to Siri and artificial intelligence in Centro from Controle
  • Individual configuration of priority notifications per application
  • Inclusion of seven new emojis following update to the Unicode standard

Changes to Centro from Controle and notifications

Centro of Controle has received new toggles specific to artificial intelligence features. Users now access options such as Talk to Siri, Type to Siri and Visual Intelligence in a faster and more direct way. Essas changes make it easier to use AI-based features on a daily basis without having to navigate deep menus.

Priority notifications gained greater granularity. Instead of global activation, the feature can be configured individually for each application. The system uses artificial intelligence to identify and highlight urgent alerts according to context and time, reducing unnecessary distractions.

New emojis and visual updates

Seven new emojis were incorporated into the update, expanding communication options. Entre they are face with dark circles, fingerprint, leafless tree, root vegetable, harp, shovel and splash. Essas additions follow the latest Unicode standard and now appear correctly on devices with the beta installed.

The flag of the territory of Sark gained official representation, while the flag of Síria was updated to the current internationally recognized version. Essas changes maintain the cultural and geopolitical consistency of the symbols available on the keyboard.

Bug fixes and expanded support

The second beta resolved several issues identified in the initial version. Entre fixes include eliminating boot loops on models like the iPhone 12 and certain older iPads. Support has been extended to a wider range of devices, including initial testing with the iPhone 16e.

The Apple Vision Pro application, which previously displayed a black screen when installed on some devices, now opens normally after download. Desenvolvedores report greater overall system stability after the update.

Updates for other operating systems

macOS Sequoia 15.4 beta 2 brings similar refinements, with an emphasis on app compatibility and visual tweaks. The beta versions of watchOS 11.4, tvOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4 follow the same update cycle, maintaining synchronization between the Apple platforms.

At the same time, the company released second release candidates for macOS Sequoia 15.7.5 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.5, aimed mainly at security fixes for older systems. Xcode 16.4 beta 2 was also made available to accompany the development cycle.

Preparation for Apple Intelligence expansion

Although the most advanced and personal version of Siri is not yet present, betas continue to lay the groundwork for future expansions of Apple Intelligence. Recursos as intelligent notification priority and visual tools receive continuous adjustments for greater precision and integration.

Apple prioritizes on-device processing and privacy across all AI capabilities. Developers are encouraged to submit detailed bug reports to ensure the final version is stable and reliable for the general public.
