The European division of Dacia, a brand belonging to Grupo Renault, has officially launched a new limited configuration for its most successful compact SUV. Batizada of Spirit of The model seeks to transfer the robustness demonstrated in the dunes of the Arábia Saudita to a production vehicle approved for the streets.

This special series stands out for offering the most advanced in the current utility line, combining four-wheel drive with an electrified propulsion system. The automaker’s strategy aims to attract consumers looking for an authentic adventurous look, backed by real mechanical capabilities, differentiating itself from the purely aesthetic versions common in the segment.

Although the launch is focused on the Velho Continente market, the novelty attracts global attention, including in the Brasil, where the model has a strong market presence. The edition serves as a showcase for technologies that the brand can expand to other territories in the next fleet renewal cycles.

The engine is one of the highlights of the project, delivering a combined power of 154 hp, which guarantees agility both on urban routes and on rough terrain. The extended autonomy, which can reach 1,500 km according to the WLTP cycle, reinforces the proposal of a vehicle prepared for long expeditions.

Exclusive design and finishing details

The vehicle’s aesthetics have been carefully crafted to evoke the desert landscapes where the world’s toughest rally competition takes place. The bodywork displays a predominant beige tone, contrasted by light brown inserts on the sides and lower parts, creating a unique visual identity.

To complement the off-road look, the model has:

– Rodas 17-inch light alloy with darkened finish;
– Proteção lower metal for engine and transmission;
– Adesivos and frames alluding to the desert theme;
– Interior with specific details of the limited edition.

The original dimensions of the utility vehicle were preserved, maintaining the model’s typical maneuverability, but with a much more imposing visual presence. The integration of aesthetic elements does not compromise functionality, serving both protection against debris and style.

Hybrid mechanical assembly specifications

Under the hood, the Spirit of Sand edition features a 1.2 three-cylinder turbo engine capable of generating 140 hp. The system is supported by a 48-volt mild hybrid architecture, which adds a 31 hp electric motor acting directly on the rear axle, essential for the on-demand all-wheel drive operation.

Energy management is carried out by a 0.84 kWh lithium battery, allowing the electrical system to assist when starting off and in low-grip situations. The automated six-speed dual-clutch transmission ensures quick and efficient shifts, optimizing fuel consumption and reducing pollutant emissions.

Technological package and comfort on board

The list of standard equipment has been expanded to justify the top-of-the-line positioning of this version. The focus is on occupant comfort and active safety while driving, whether on paved highways or light trails.

Among the main technology and comfort items, the camera system with 360-degree vision stands out, essential for overcoming difficult obstacles, and the monitoring of blind spots. The winter package, included in the configuration, offers heating for the front seats, steering wheel and windshield, ensuring usability in extreme climates.

Legacy of competitions for the streets

The connection between the commercial product and motorsport is a powerful marketing tool used by the manufacturer. By associating the street SUV with the winning Sandrider prototype, the brand reinforces attributes of durability and mechanical resistance to the public.

The initiative follows the trend of special versions such as the Soul of Dakar, keeping the adventure narrative that surrounds the model’s name alive. Enquanto to Europa receive this exclusive edition, the Brazilian market awaits the automaker’s next steps for updates to the national line.
