Apple announced the new iPad Air equipped with the M4 chip and 12 GB of unified memory, offering significantly higher performance than the previous model. Pre-sales begin on March 4th, with availability starting March 11th in major markets. The tablet arrives in 11- and 13-inch versions, keeping initial prices affordable and incorporating advances in processing, connectivity and artificial intelligence resources.
The upgrade to the M4 chip brings gains of up to 30% in performance compared to the M3-equipped iPad Air, and up to 2.3 times more speed than the M1 model. The 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU enable more demanding tasks, such as video editing in professional applications and games with realistic graphics.
The 12 GB unified memory represents a 50% increase over the previous generation, with 120 GB/s bandwidth. Essa configuration accelerates the execution of AI models on the device, thanks to the 16-core Neural Engine, which processes operations more efficiently.

M4 chip boosts graphics and multitasking performance
M4 includes support for mesh shading and second-generation hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Esses features improve professional-level 3D rendering, with more accurate results in lighting, reflections and shadows.
Users who work with image or video editing notice significant gains. Aplicativos like Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro perform compositing and exporting faster.
The increase in unified memory contributes to fluid multitasking. Vários apps open simultaneously maintain stability even under heavy loads.
Advanced connectivity with proprietary Apple chips
The new iPad Air adopts the N1 chip for wireless networks. Ele supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, delivering faster and more reliable connections in multi-device environments.
Models with cellular connectivity incorporate the C1X modem. Esse component achieves speeds up to 50% higher on 5G networks, in addition to integrating GPS for precise navigation.
These improvements make it easier to use on the go. Transferências via AirDrop and personal hotspot gain in performance and stability.
Design and features maintained with subtle updates
The tablet preserves the thin and light design of recent generations. The 11-inch version measures 247.6 x 178.5 x 6.1 mm and weighs 464 g in the Wi-Fi option, while the 13-inch reaches 280.6 x 214.9 x 6.1 mm and 616 g.
Both have a high-resolution Liquid Retina screen. The smaller model offers 2,360 x 1,640 pixels, and the larger 2,732 x 2,048 pixels, ensuring sharp images and vivid colors.
The 12-megapixel front camera remains centered in landscape mode. Isso improves video calls by keeping the user in the center of the frame.
Cameras, sensors, and accessory compatibility
The 12 megapixel rear camera with wide-angle lens captures good quality photos and videos. Sensores include Touch ID on top button, three-axis gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer and ambient light sensor.
The USB-C port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 for fast data transfer and video output. Modelos cell phones use integrated eSIM.
The iPad Air supports Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), and Magic Keyboard. Esses accessories expand use for drawing, note-taking and productivity.
Storage and color options available
Storage configurations start at 128 GB and go up to 1 TB. Isso serves everyone from basic users to professionals who deal with large files.
Colors include blue, purple, starry white and space gray. Essas options maintain the product’s premium aesthetics.
The iPadOS 26 operating system brings improved multitasking capabilities. Resizable Janelas and redesigned menu bar make workflow easier.
The new iPad Air combines high power with a maintained price. Ele caters to students, creators, and business users looking for versatility in a lightweight tablet.
