The Chinese automaker made official this Monday (4) a strategic restructuring of its portfolio of electrified vehicles in the national market. The new features include the complete mechanical update of its best-selling model, which now has a turbo engine in all versions, and the introduction of an unprecedented large sports utility vehicle.

The move seeks to consolidate the brand’s leadership in the plug-in hybrid segment, offering greater energy efficiency without changing the price list for the entry-level model in the mid-range. The aggressive strategy aims to contain the advance of competition that is also betting on electrification.

Deliveries of the first units are scheduled to begin in March at the authorized dealer network. The expansion of the line reflects the manufacturer’s optimism with the economic scenario of 2026 and the growing demand for sustainable technologies in individual transport.

Technical changes in the 2027 line

The main change in the medium SUV lies in the replacement of the old mechanical assembly with a new 1.5 turbo engine, capable of delivering 130 hp and 22.4 kgfm of torque. Essa update increases the system’s combined power to 239 hp when it works in conjunction with the electric motor, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, a noticeable gain compared to the previous generation.

The energy storage system also received a significant upgrade with the adoption of a 26.6 kWh Blade battery. The new capacity represents a 57% increase in autonomy in pure electric mode, which now reaches 99 km through the Inmetro’s PBEV cycle, facilitating daily use without consuming gasoline.

To support the new energy demand, the vehicle now accepts fast direct current recharges. The system allows you to recover from 30% to 80% of the charge in just 55 minutes, an essential feature for users who depend on public charging stations during urban commutes or short trips.

The overall efficiency of the hybrid package promises a total range of up to 1,150 km, in accordance with the NEDC standard. The average consumption recorded in hybrid mode is 5.1 liters per 100 km, reinforcing the fuel economy proposal despite the increase in power delivered by the new turbocharger.

Arrival of the seven-seater giant

The Atto 8 debuts as the brand’s new reference of luxury and performance, positioned above the current lines with a suggested price of R$399,990. With more than five meters in length and almost three meters in wheelbase, the model offers seating for seven passengers and a trunk that can reach 1,960 liters with the seats folded down.

Under the hood, the DM-P hybrid system combines a 1.5 combustion engine with two electric thrusters, one on each axle, guaranteeing all-wheel drive on demand. The package delivers an overwhelming combined power of 488 hp and 675 Nm of torque, numbers that allow the large SUV to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.

Technology and comfort on board

Both launches share a robust technology package, centered on a 15.6-inch rotating multimedia screen and digital instrument panel. However, the larger model differentiates itself by offering superior convenience items, such as massage for the seats in the first two rows and a premium audio system with 21 speakers for an immersive experience.

Safety is prioritized with the inclusion of the ADAS 2 package, which includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and cross-traffic monitoring. Connectivity is guaranteed by support for voice commands in four distinct zones and wireless charging for smartphones in all rows of seats.

Specification comparison

The differentiation between the models becomes clear when analyzing the technical data side by side, allowing the consumer to choose between urban efficiency or raw performance for long journeys.

  • Electric range: 99 km in the medium model and 111 km in the seven-seater model.
  • Combined power: 239 hp in the entry-level version versus 488 hp in the top-of-the-line version.
  • Launch price: R$249,990 for the 2027 line and R$399,990 for the new large SUV.
  • Performance: 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds in the turbo model and 4.9 seconds in the sport model.

Maintaining the price of R$249,990 for the Song Plus, even with technical improvements, signals an attempt to retain the customer base. The brand also offers special financing conditions and bonuses when exchanging used cars, seeking to keep sales volume strong in the face of new options on the market.
