BYD unveils Tai 7 with ultra-fast 9-minute recharge and Defender-inspired design
Fang Cheng Bao, BYD’s off-road SUV brand, announced the launch of two models equipped with the company’s most advanced technologies. The Tai 7 and Tai 3 vehicles receive the second generation of the Blade battery and the Flash Charging charging system. Esses features allow for extremely fast recharges, with the ability to reach 97% in nine minutes and 10% to 70% in five minutes. The launches take place on March 13, marking a significant advance in the electric vehicle segment.
The Tai 7 stands out as the main model in the line, with robust dimensions that bring it closer to the Land Rover Defender. The SUV measures 4.99 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.87 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Disponível in 4×2 and 4×4 versions, the 100% electric variant offers up to 755 kilometers of autonomy in the adopted measurement cycle. The combination of the second generation Blade battery with the Flash charging provides an experience similar to that of hybrid or combustion vehicles, eliminating concerns about long recharges in daily use.
Flash Charging technology requires high power chargers to achieve advertised times. BYD has developed a 1,500 kW charger, higher than the MCS standard used in heavy electric vehicles. However, this infrastructure is not yet widely available in markets such as Europa, which represents a practical limitation to the full adoption of the benefits.
Robust design and off-road proportions
The Tai 7 combines square lines and high height, characteristics that reinforce its vocation for uneven terrain. Acabamentos high-end interiors complement the functional exterior look. The brand positions the model as an ideal option for those looking for off-road performance without giving up comfort and technology.
These dimensions and proportions guarantee generous internal space and the ability to face adverse conditions. The visual similarity with the Defender is not limited to style, but includes technical capabilities that meet the demands of mixed urban and rural use.
Ultra-fast charging technology
The Flash Charging system represents a milestone in reducing recharging times for electric vehicles. BYD guarantees that the process does not compromise battery durability, thanks to advances in thermal management and energy density. The second generation of Blade offers 5% more density compared to the previous one, which improves efficiency and overall safety.
These advancements allow the electric Tai 7 to minimize long stops on trips. Usuários with access to compatible chargers experience convenience close to traditional charging.
Tai 3 complements the line with compact size
The Tai 3 adopts smaller proportions, measuring 4.61 meters in length, similar to the Toyota RAV4. The design maintains the family’s square and wide style, prioritizing visual robustness. The autonomy reaches 620 kilometers in the longer range version, while the configuration with two electric motors delivers 510 hp of total power.
This model suits profiles that seek urban versatility with off-road features. Integrating the same battery and charging technologies ensures consistency across the line.
Infrastructure Challenges for Extreme Charging
The 1,500 kW power of the Flash charger highlights the potential of the technology, but it depends on an adequate electrical network. In regions without this capacity installed, recharging times remain limited to conventional standards. BYD plans to gradually expand this infrastructure in priority markets.
The lack of confirmation regarding arrival at Espanha or Europa maintains uncertainty regarding local availability. Similar Modelos from the brand, such as the Fang Cheng Bao 5 renamed Denza B5, already indicate an entry strategy via other premium divisions.
Possible international expansion
Fang Cheng Bao evaluates external markets for the new Tai. Experience with the Denza B5 in the Europa suggests that the Tai 7 and Tai 3 may follow a similar path, possibly under the brand name Denza. Recursos off-road features such as reinforced chassis and differential locks on the bigger brother reinforce its attractiveness for regions with demand for capable SUVs.
The combination of high autonomy, fast recharging and robust design positions the models as direct competitors in premium electric segments.
Range and available versions
The electric version of the Tai 7 prioritizes a range of 755 km, ideal for long distances. Opções plug-in hybrids cover a total of 1,300 km, increasing versatility. The Blade 2.0 battery ensures performance maintenance in different weather conditions.
These specs suit both everyday use and moderate off-road adventures.
The Fang Cheng Bao advances with technologies that reduce traditional tram barriers. The focus on recharging speed and battery safety sets a new standard in the market.
