The detection of a celestial body with anomalous behavior and extreme speed has placed the international astronomical community in a state of alert and continuous observation. Viajando at a speed estimated at one hundred thousand kilometers per hour in relation to Sol, the object called 3I/ATLAS presents physical and orbital characteristics that defy conventional astrophysics models. The dizzying speed and straight trajectory indicate that the natural artifact does not belong to our cosmic neighborhood.

Initially identified by the automated scanning system at Chile, the celestial body was quickly classified as the third confirmed interstellar visitor to cross our system’s space. Confirmation of its external origin mobilized networks of telescopes on several continents, which began to track the object’s every movement in an attempt to decipher its composition before it disappears into deep space.

Despite the immediate mobilization of space agencies and planetary defense offices, rigorous calculations attested to the absence of any risk of collision with Terra. The focus of global operations has turned entirely to collecting primary data, taking advantage of the rare opportunity to study uncontaminated material from a distant and unknown star system.

Orbital monitoring and characteristics

Primary tracking occurred through the automated alert system operated in partnership with universities and installed at the Río Hurtado observatory. The equipment’s wide-field scanning capability allowed early identification of the faint glow emitted by the frozen body against the dark background of space.

Analysis of the orbital curve immediately revealed a hyperbolic eccentricity, meaning that the object possesses enough kinetic energy to escape the gravitational pull of the object.
