Apple presents iPhone 17e with dual eSIM, 15W MagSafe and more resistant screen

Apple launched the iPhone 17e, an entry-level model in the iPhone 17 line with improved performance and advanced features while maintaining the same starting price as the previous generation. The device comes with the latest generation A19 chip, doubled storage from 256 GB, MagSafe compatibility and a 48 MP Fusion camera that offers 2x quality optical zoom. Pre-sales began on March 4th in several countries, including Brasil, and deliveries began on March 11th, with availability in physical stores and online.

The device maintains the familiar design with notch, 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen and Ceramic Shield 2 for greater resistance. Usuários now has faster wireless charging and satellite functions for emergencies. The iPhone 17e is positioned as an affordable option for those looking to enter the Apple ecosystem with relevant updates.

Pre-sale and release dates

Apple announced the iPhone 17e on March 2, 2026. Pre-orders opened on March 4 in more than 70 countries and regions. The first units began to be delivered on March 11, coinciding with their arrival in physical stores.

For Brasil, pre-sales started on March 9th at the official Apple store. Shipments followed the global schedule, with immediate availability for available configurations.

Pricing and storage options

The iPhone 17e starts at 256 GB, double the base storage of the previous model for the same starting price. The 512GB configuration is also available at an adjusted price.

In the Brazilian market, the 256 GB model costs R$5,799, while the 512 GB model costs R$7,299. Pagamentos in cash offer a 10% discount at the official store.

Design and new colors

The design remains similar to its predecessor, with an aluminum structure, straight edges and a notch on the screen. Apple did not adopt Dynamic Island in this entry model.

A new “soft pink” color has been added to the palette, which includes white and black with a premium matte finish. The action button is present on the left side, but without the camera control of the superior models.

Greater durability screen

The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display offers a resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels and HDR support. Brightness reaches 800 nits in standard and peaks at 1,200 nits in HDR content.

The Ceramic Shield 2 improves scratch resistance by three times compared to the previous generation. Anti-reflective coating reduces glare in bright environments.

48MP Fusion Camera

The single rear camera is a 48 MP Fusion type with f/1.6 aperture and optical stabilization. Ela supports 24 MP and 48 MP high-resolution photos, as well as 2x optical zoom with telephoto quality.

The 12MP TrueDepth front camera maintains autofocus. The system allows for advanced portraits with depth and focus control.

The device records videos in 4K Dolby Vision at 60 fps and spatial audio. Essas capabilities deliver versatile results even with a single lens.

MagSafe battery and charging

The battery offers up to 26 hours of video playback and 21 hours of streaming. Fast charging reaches 50% in 30 minutes with a 20W or higher adapter.

MagSafe compatibility allows for wireless charging at up to 15W. The addition of Essa represents a significant improvement over the previous limit of 7.5W without MagSafe.

The USB-C port maintains 480Mbps speed for transfers.

C1X connectivity and modem

iPhone 17e adopts only eSIM with dual eSIM support, eliminating the physical SIM slot. Usuários of old models need to convert or order new eSIM.

The C1X modem developed by Apple is up to twice as fast and energy efficient as the previous one. The device supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, satellite emergency SOS and satellite messaging.

These features ensure connection in areas without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.

Performance with A19 chip

The A19 chip powers the iPhone 17e, the same one used in the main iPhone 17 line. The GPU has four cores, delivering fluid performance in daily use and demanding tasks.

The processor fully supports the functions of Apple Intelligence. The Siri will soon receive improvements, expanding the artificial intelligence on the device.

The modem and chip combined optimize battery consumption and network speed.
