Samsung activates AirDrop support by default in Quick Share on Galaxy S26

Samsung has started implementing AirDrop support through Quick Share on Galaxy S26 line devices. The resource began to be released via OTA update starting March 23, with initial rollout on Coreia from Sul and expansion planned for Europa, Hong Kong, Japão, Usuários who receive the update will find sharing with Apple devices automatically enabled, making it easy to directly transfer files, photos and videos between Galaxy and iPhone without the need for additional settings in most cases.

Sharing works in a similar way to what is already present in Pixel, where the resource operates in an integrated and permanent manner. In the case of Galaxy, the function is turned on by default as soon as the update is installed, but maintains flexibility for manual adjustments.

Samsung confirmed that AirDrop via Quick Share requires a specific version of Google Play Services, recommending 26.11 or higher for full operation. Release occurs gradually and depends on the region and smartphone model. Future updates and expansion

The feature’s arrival at Galaxy represents the first major expansion of AirDrop support beyond the Pixel and Google lineup. Interoperability between Quick Share and AirDrop was initially introduced on the Pixel 10 in late 2025.

Samsung continues working to expand compatibility to more models in its product portfolio. Detalhes which old devices will receive the function will still be announced by the manufacturer.

The rollout began at Coreia from Sul and is progressively moving to other markets.
