Cooper Flagg beats Kon Knueppel to win NBA Rookie of the Year award

Cooper Flagg of Dallas Mavericks was named the NBA’s Novato of Ano on Monday night. The 19-year-old winger beat Kon Knueppel’s Charlotte Hornets in one of the most competitive votes in the award’s history.

Flagg became the first rookie since Michael Jordan in the 1984-85 season to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists and steals. The two players, former teammates of Duke, took first and second place in the race for the trophy. VJ Edgecombe, from the Philadelphia 76ers, completed the podium.

Flagg dominates Mavericks statistics despite bad season
