The North American manufacturer officially announced the arrival of the Ram Dakota Laramie Night Edition on the Brazilian automotive market. The new configuration expands the medium pickup truck’s portfolio with a visual package focused on darkened elements and exclusive finishing details. The model maintains the mechanical base already established by the line, offering diesel engines and four-wheel drive to meet urban and rural demands.

The launch is part of the automaker’s global strategy to attract consumers looking for a more aggressive design without sacrificing load capacity. The version adopts the same aesthetic identity previously applied to the brand’s larger vehicles. The movement comes just weeks after the introduction of the Dakota family in the country. Concessionárias in all regions should receive the first batches of the utility over the next few months.

Public Estreia takes place during an agricultural fair in the interior of São Paulo

The first physical display of the vehicle is scheduled for Agrishow, an agribusiness event that takes place at the end of April in the city of Ribeirão Preto, in São Paulo. The fair attracts rural producers and businesspeople in the sector, a direct target audience for pickup trucks with high capacity beds. The space will serve to demonstrate the external changes that differentiate the configuration from other options available in the automaker’s catalog.

The project replaces the traditional chrome appliqués with parts with glossy or matte black paint. The front grille, identification logos, exterior mirror caps and door handles received the blacked-out treatment. The color palette has the addition of the tone Azul Tempest, which now appears alongside the options Branco Glacier, Prata Knox, Cinza Graphite, Preto Absolut and Terra Sunrise.

  • Rodas 18-inch light alloy with exclusive finish in Granite Crystal color.
  • Grade redesigned front with glossy black interior elements.
  • Identidade visual of the back cover and side logos without metallic reflection.
  • Inclusão of the new livery Azul Tempest in the customization catalogue.
  • Preservação of the structural and body dimensions of the standard Laramie version.

Juliano Machado, executive responsible for operations at Ram at América at Sul, stated that the new look meets a frequent request from customers. The Night Edition configuration has already demonstrated strong commercial acceptance in large pickup trucks sold by the company on the continent.

Cabine receives dark finish and connected multimedia center

The interior of the utility vehicle follows the exterior proposal with the adoption of predominantly black coverings. The seats feature dark leather upholstery, contrasting stitching and electrical adjustments for first-row occupants. The instrument panel and door panels use high-density rubber and plastic materials to raise the standard of fitment. The center console houses the rotary selector responsible for activating the traction modes.

The entertainment system operates through a 12.3-inch touchscreen positioned in the center of the dashboard. The equipment allows smartphone mirroring via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without the need for cables. The native software includes pages dedicated to off-road use, displaying real-time information about body roll, fluid temperature and front wheel steering angle.

Mechanical Conjunto preserves diesel engine and all-wheel drive

The vehicle’s propulsion continues to be provided by the 2.2 four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. The block develops 200 maximum horsepower and delivers 450 Nm of torque at low speeds. Power is managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission with torque converter. The 4×4 traction system acts automatically on demand, also allowing manual selection between rear, all-wheel drive and reduced drive modes for low-grip terrain.

The suspension architecture uses independent arms at the front axle and a rigid axle with coil springs at the rear. The calibration of the shock absorbers seeks to balance driving comfort on asphalt with the resistance required to transport heavy loads. The towing capacity and useful volume of the bucket remain identical to the figures recorded by the other versions of the Laramie family. The fuel tank guarantees adequate autonomy for long road journeys.

Technological Pacote integrates driver assistance systems

Active safety represents one of the pillars of the pickup’s list of standard equipment. Adaptive cruise control automatically adjusts speed based on traffic ahead. The autonomous emergency braking system uses cameras and radars to identify the risk of collision with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. The device issues audible and visual alerts before applying the brakes independently if the driver does not react in time.

The assistance package also includes blind spot monitoring in the exterior mirrors and rear cross traffic alert, useful when reversing in perpendicular parking spaces. Lane Keeping Assist applies small steering wheel corrections to prevent unintentional departures from the lane. A network of cameras generates a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings, facilitating parking in confined spaces. Controles traction and stability electronics work in conjunction with multiple airbags spread throughout the cabin.

Estratégia commercial seeks to expand participation in the medium segment

The rapid expansion of the Dakota catalog reflects the automaker’s aggressiveness in the Brazilian utility vehicle market. The medium pickup truck segment concentrates a significant volume of sales and attracts consumers willing to invest in vehicles with a high level of equipment. The brand replicates the version diversification tactic that ensured the growth in registrations of the Rampage, 1500 and 3500 models in recent years.

The price positioning of the new variant has not yet been officially detailed by the manufacturer. Market expectations indicate that the price list will be close to the amount charged for the conventional Laramie configuration, adding only the cost of the aesthetic package. The arrival of the units in physical stores marks the beginning of a new phase of direct competition against traditional pickup trucks established in the country, focusing on differentiated visual appeal as the main selling argument.
