Chinese automaker Chery presents new modular sports utility vehicle that transforms cabin into light pickup truck

Chery presented Tiggo V in Salão of Automóvel of Pequim. The model arrives as a family utility vehicle with an unprecedented versatility proposal. The vehicle uses a modular cabin that allows quick transformations between SUV, minivan and light pickup truck configurations.

The launch took place on April 24, 2026. The brand positions the Tiggo V as the first transformable SUV in the Tiggo line. Ele derives from the T1TP concept shown in 2025. The unibody platform maintains the focus on family comfort with utilitarian capability.

Modular Cabine allows six different arrangements

The highlight of the Tiggo V is its internal flexibility. The removable rear structure and folding seats create six distinct configurations. In standard mode it functions as an SUV or minivan with three rows and seven seats.

The 2,800 mm wheelbase helps with space. The internal height reaches 1,297 mm. Chery reported that the layout facilitates access to the third row and improves circulation. São 42 storage compartments spread throughout the cabin.
