Resident Evil Requiem’s final puzzle was solved in just four days. The speed surprised even the Capcom development team, who had planned a much longer challenge to solve.
Akifumi Nakanishi, the game’s director, admitted in an interview that he waited at least two weeks before someone solved the mystery. The community, however, managed to solve it in a fraction of the expected time, with the help of datamining techniques that revealed information hidden in the game’s code.
