Nissan uses a mechanical reuse strategy on five different vehicles sold in Brasil. The 1.6 16V HR16DE engine and the CVT X-Tronic automatic transmission, although identical in design, receive specific calibrations depending on the model. Essa approach reduces production costs and offers proven consumer durability.

The engine-gearbox set appears in the March, Versa and three of the brand’s SUVs: first generation Kicks, Kicks Play and Kait. Apesar is categorized as distinct vehicles, all of which utilize the same fundamental mechanical block. The application in different proposals demonstrates the reliability of the project and its flexibility to adapt to different uses.

Cinco models share the same mechanical base

  • March: urban compact sedan
  • Versa: medium sedan with a focus on comfort
  • First generation Kicks: compact SUV
  • Kicks Play: updated compact SUV
  • Kait: recently launched compact SUV

Calibragens vary according to weight and size

The March, being the lightest vehicle in the line, develops 111 horsepower and 15.1 kilograms of force per meter of torque. Essa configuration prioritizes agility for circulation in urban traffic. The Versa received a slightly higher adjustment, reaching 113 horsepower and 15.3 kgfm, accompanied by a six-speed CVT simulation for behavior closer to a traditional gearbox.

The SUVs maintain 113 horsepower, but the gearbox has been configured to simulate seven gears. Essa difference occurs because vehicles with greater weight and height require different responses in acceleration and speed maintenance. Additional gear simulation offers smoothness and control across different rpm ranges.

Preços on the used market and new

The first generation Kicks can be found starting at approximately 70 thousand reais in model year 2017. The most recent Kicks Play has values according to the Fipe table starting at 114,894 reais. The new Kait starts at 117,990 reais at dealerships.

Used Sedãs from the 2017-2018 generation of Versa start at around 50 thousand reais, while new units start at values close to 117,990 reais. The March, discontinued since 2020, is still in demand on the used market. Unidades from 2017 sell for around 55 thousand reais, while copies from the last year of production cost more than 70 thousand reais.

Lógica for reuse and efficiency

The Nissan strategy reduces development costs while maintaining quality through adjusted calibrations. A tested and consolidated mechanical set allows the brand to offer diverse products without reinventing critical components. Consumidores gain access to solutions with a proven track record of durability. The simplified Manutenção is an additional benefit, as engine and gearbox parts follow the same standard across the five models.

Reuse does not mean abandoning differences. Cada version of the engine-gearbox received its own optimizations to deliver performance suitable for the type of use expected. A compact urban sedan does not need the same features as a multipurpose SUV. Essa flexibility allowed Nissan to offer a broad portfolio without excessive fragmentation of parts and suppliers.

Muitos consumers are unaware that their vehicles share fundamental components with other brand proposals. Essa perception is formed during purchase and use, when characteristics such as space, comfort and design generate the sensation of completely different products. The mechanical reality remains: efficiency through scale and standardization of critical components.
