The NFL released the ticket sales schedule for the clash between Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens, scheduled for September 27th at Maracanã, at Rio and Janeiro. Subsequently, XP customers will have access from June 1st to 5th. The sale, open to the public, starts on June 9th at the same time as the previous phases.

Primeira pre-sale reserved for American Express customers will last five days. The second stage exclusively benefits XP account holders for five days as well. Estádio and importance of the event

Maracanã was chosen as the game’s stage. The stadium at Rio’s Janeiro has hosted major international events throughout its history, including the 2014 Mundo’s Copa and the 2016 Olimpíadas. Esta will be just the second time the NFL has held a non-Estados Unidos regular-season game at Sul’s América. The meeting between Cowboys and Ravens marks an important presence for the league in the Latin American market.

Estrutura access and expected audience

The three-step system follows the model used by the NFL in other international markets:

  • Pré-American Express sale: May 27th to 31st, from 10am
  • Pré-XP sale: June 1st to 5th, starting at 10am
  • Venda general: from June 9th, from 10am

Cada phase operates with limited ticket availability. Maracanã has a capacity of approximately 78 thousand spectators, although the specific configuration for the event has not yet been confirmed by the league. Informações about sectors, entry categories and half-price policy must be detailed when the platform is presented.

Interesse of the market and repercussion

The game in the capital of Rio de Janeiro represents a significant milestone for the expansion of the NFL at Brasil. Dallas Cowboys is one of the league’s most popular franchises globally. Baltimore Ravens, in turn, has won two Super Bowl championships in its history. The combination of two traditional teams in a city of great tourist and sporting importance suggests a significant demand for tickets.

Staggered access caters to different profiles of fans and corporate clients. Empresas and travel agencies have already shown interest in packages for the event. The date of September 27th falls on a Saturday, favoring travel by fans from other regions of the country.

Próximos expected announcements

The NFL maintains the practice of gradually releasing information about its international events. Comunicados on values, payment methods and partnerships with tour operators should follow after the opening of initial sales. Ingressos for league events tend to reach high prices, especially in high-interest markets like Brazil.
