Pixel Watch 2, 3 and 4 gain earthquake alerts and forgotten cell phone detection
Google released an update in March 2026 for the LTE models of Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4. Build CP1A.260305.014.W4 brings new security, payment and emergency features to smart watches. The rollout began with the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi variants, with the factory images and OTA files now available on the company’s official website for users of the LTE versions.
Proprietários of the clocks can manually check the update by going to Configurações > Sistema > Atualizações of the system. Alguns devices pull the package automatically, while others require sideloading via a specific cable for Pixel Watch 2 and 3 or debug adapter for the Pixel Watch 4. The update maintains full compatibility with the three recent models in the line.
Express Pay comes to Pixel Watch for fast payments
The Express Pay feature has been implemented in Pixel Watch 2 and later versions to speed up contactless transactions. With this functionality, users make payments by bringing their watch closer to the terminal without needing to open the Google Wallet application in advance. The system uses advanced movement algorithms that confirm the intention to pay and requires the watch to be unlocked with the feature enabled.
The change simplifies daily use of public transport, stores and establishments that accept contactless payments. Google emphasizes that the system reduces unnecessary steps while maintaining high safety standards during operation.

Earthquake Alertas now works autonomously
Models Pixel Watch 2 and above receive autonomous earthquake alerts right on their wrist. The notification operates without an active connection to the smartphone when the device is linked to Wi-Fi or LTE networks. The feature uses the same seismic detection infrastructure already present in Pixel cell phones, providing advance warning in regions with system coverage.
Essa capability represents important advancement for users in areas subject to seismic activity. The watch processes and displays the alert independently, ensuring that the information arrives even in situations where the phone is partially disconnected.
Notificação of forgotten cell phone and automatic blocking
The Notify when left behind function warns when the user moves significantly away from the paired smartphone. The Pixel Watch 2 and newer models trigger the alert only after a substantial change in location, avoiding unnecessary notifications during short movements within the home. The system also allows the phone to automatically lock itself when the watch leaves the Bluetooth range.
Users enable both options in the Pixel Watch companion app, in the Preferências section of the watch > Segurança. The combination reinforces protection against unauthorized access in cases of forgotten or lost smartphone.
Novos one-handed gestures and identity verification
One-handed gestures introduced in Pixel Watch 4 are now available in Pixel Watch 3. Usuários performs actions such as answering calls, pausing media or taking remote photos with simple wrist movements or double pinch, making it easier to use in situations where your hands are busy. Dispositivos Pixel Watch 3 and higher compatible with Pixel 8 Pro uses the clock to confirm identity checks on selected services, expanding secure authentication options.
SOS via satellite expands international coverage
The Pixel Watch Satellite SOS now operates on the Europa, Canadá, Porto Rico, Alasca and Havaí. The satellite emergency messaging functionality expands coverage beyond the mainland of the Estados Unidos, maintaining the initial two-year period at no additional cost after activation on compatible devices. Essa expansion benefits travelers and residents in areas with limited cellular connectivity, allowing distress messages to be sent even without a mobile network signal or Wi-Fi.
