A free demo of Grand Theft Auto: Carcer City has been available for download since April 10, 2026. The full conversion mod for GTA San Andreas allows you to explore an enlarged version of the fictional city measuring 1.82 GB in size. The project recreates Carcer City with details that go beyond what was seen in Manhunt, from 2003, featuring streets with abandoned factories, narrow alleys and neighborhoods marked by industrial decay. The atmosphere is reminiscent of cities from the American Rust Belt, such as Detroit, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

Mapa replaces Los Santos with decaying metropolis

The mod completely swaps San Andreas’s original map, replacing Los Santos with a single large, interconnected city. Jogadores travel through areas that replicate known Manhunt locations, now fully explorable on foot or by vehicle. Ruined Fábricas dominate the skyline in several districts, while dark alleys and seedy bars complete the urban setting. The environment conveys a heavier tone, with an emphasis on corruption and the fight for survival.

The demo offers the entire city for free exploration from the start. Ela includes seven initial story missions, new weapons and collectibles distributed throughout the metropolis. New radio Estações helps recreate the atmosphere of the early 2000s, reinforcing immersion in the period portrayed.

História takes place in 2001 with an original plot

The events take place in 2001. The player follows a former police officer who becomes involved in the city’s violent underworld as gangs control territories and public systems fail. The narrative aims for an immersive and dark tone, with only part of the intro content receiving voice acting in the demo. The developers recommend turning on subtitles to accompany the full dialogues.

Modder DeadpoolMKD leads development with support from the Freetime Studios team. Contribuições came from communities like GTA Underground and other modding projects consolidated in the modification scene.

  • Full Mapa from Carcer City exploitable
  • Sete story missions playable in the demo
  • Novas integrated weapons and collectibles
  • Estações radio recreates the 2001 period
  • Locais icons from Manhunt have been incorporated into the map

Requisitos technical and installation process

Para To run the mod it is necessary to have the original and clean version of GTA San Andreas 1.0, preferably the American edition. Qualquer prior modification may generate conflicts with project files. The download is hosted on the official project page at Mod DB, and after downloading the zip file, simply extract the files into the game folder following the instructions provided by the creator.

The current version is an initial demo. The team plans to release updates throughout 2026 with more story content, additional voice acting, and technical fixes based on community feedback.

Comunidade celebrates recreation of the Rockstar universe

Fãs from Manhunt and the 3D era of GTA highlight the size and level of detail of the map as one of the largest ever made in a game in the series on older engines. Vídeos gameplay shows long streets, dense traffic and smooth transitions between industrial and residential districts. The lighting and visual effects maintain the classic style, but with updated textures for the new setting.

The project has no official connection with Rockstar Games and only uses the engine and base assets of San Andreas, combined with the team’s original creations. Jogadores accustomed to the lighter tone of San Andreas finds a strong contrast here, with the city seeming alive, but full of tension around every corner.

Experiência Gameplay and Upcoming Updates

The demo serves as a test for the public, allowing us to evaluate the performance of the large map and the quality of the new integrated mechanics. Feedback from the community should guide the next versions of the mod, which remain in active development with new builds expected to bring more missions and technical refinements in 2026.
