Chery presented the Tiggo V at Auto China 2026, in Pequim, a seven-seater SUV equipped with a modular cabin system that allows quick transformation into a light pickup truck. The vehicle uses a monocoque platform and offers six different interior space configurations, combining versatility for family use and cargo transport. The Chinese automaker highlights the ease of change, which takes place in just a few steps without the need for complex tools.
Modular Sistema offers six usage modes
The main innovation of the Tiggo V is in the rear section, where the seats can be removed or adapted to create a cargo area. Diferentemente of conventional SUVs, where the seats just fold down, the system allows deeper transformations in the internal configuration.
- Modo family with seven full occupants
- Modo utility vehicle with approximately 600 liter bucket
- Configuração with movable partitions for long loads
- Layout for transportation of leisure equipment
- Opção with expanded luggage space for travel
- Mixed Modo that retains some seats and cargo area
The 2,800 mm wheelbase guarantees ample internal space, while the 1,297 mm internal height facilitates access and circulation, especially in the rear rows. Essa flexibility positions the Tiggo V as an alternative for large families and users who need occasional cargo transportation without giving up comfort.
Dimensões and mixed terrain capability
The Tiggo V has ground clearance of 220 mm, a value that surpasses many urban SUVs and allows you to travel on dirt roads safely. The attack angle makes it possible to climb ramps of up to 30 degrees, expanding the possibilities of use in different scenarios.
The water crossing capacity varies depending on the engine. The hybrid version supports up to 700 mm of depth, while the combustion option reaches 650 mm. The suspension was calibrated to offer comfort on asphalt and stability on uneven surfaces, making the model suitable for the city, travel and light leisure.
Motorizações focus on energy efficiency
The Tiggo V will have two propulsion options. The plug-in hybrid version (PHEV) promises an average consumption of 16.7 km/l, or 6.0 liters per 100 km, while the combustion variant delivers an average of 12.8 km/l. The Chery has not yet released the exact combined power, but it guarantees enough torque to move the loaded vehicle effortlessly.
The hybrid system of the Super Hybrid line should equip the PHEV option, reinforcing the automaker’s focus on energy efficiency. Essa strategy aligns the Tiggo V with global trends in reducing consumption and emissions.
Strategic Posicionamento in the global market
The Tiggo V appears as the global model of the Tiggo line, positioning itself above the Tiggo 9 as the flagship of the family. The proposal serves the segment of large families and users who need occasional cargo transportation, differentiating itself through its modularity in a market dominated by conventional SUVs.
The Chinese automaker is betting on configuration flexibility to differentiate the product on the international market. The concept had already appeared in a conceptual study shown the previous year, and has now reached the production version. The launch reinforces Chery’s presence in global markets, consolidating its expansion strategy with innovative models. Detalhes pricing, Brasil availability and full specifications have not yet been confirmed by Caoa Chery.
