Thainara Cavalcante, aged 28, was found stabbed to death inside her residence in Terra Roxa, in Oeste of Paraná, after her ex-partner traveled approximately 2 thousand kilometers with the intention of committing the crime. Natan of Souza Brito, 28 years old, confessed to the murder to Polícia Civil of Paraná (PC-PR). The case, which occurred in the early hours of last Thursday (14), is being treated as feminicide and shocks the local community.

PC-PR’s initial investigation revealed that Natan of Souza Brito traveled from Luís Eduardo Magalhães, on Bahia, to Paraná. Ele did not accept the end of the relationship with Thainara, which had happened about five months earlier. The distance covered by the suspect demonstrates the premeditation and seriousness of his actions, according to reports obtained by authorities.

Motivação and the suspect’s long journey

Natan of Souza Brito reported in testimony that his decision to travel and commit the crime came after discovering that Thainara Cavalcante was in a new relationship. Ele claimed to have invaded his ex-partner’s social networks, gaining access to information that led him to take the drastic action. Not accepting the end and online monitoring were crucial elements in the tragic outcome.

The journey of almost 2 thousand kilometers, from the interior of Bahia to Oeste in Paraná, shows detailed planning. Este route crosses different states, a significant effort to carry out an act of extreme violence. The man acted out of jealousy and possession, characteristics often present in cases of femicide.

Invasão and the fatal attack on the residence

In the early hours of the crime, Natan invaded Thainara’s house in a planned manner. Ele jumped over the property wall, then using a copy of the property key. Esta key, according to the police, was known to them since the time the couple had the relationship. The victim was surprised and attacked with several knife blows, failing to resist his injuries and dying at the scene.

The violence of the attack and the way the killer accessed the residence are shocking details. The use of the old key suggests prior knowledge of the routine and access to the victim’s home, reinforcing the intentionality of the act. Polícia Civil works to reconstruct the exact moments of the crime and collect all the necessary evidence.

Fuga to Toledo and subsequent surrender

Após committed femicide, Natan of Souza Brito left Thainara’s house with apparent tranquility. Ele went to Toledo, a neighboring city in Paraná’s Oeste, where he showered and changed his clothes. Posteriormente, the suspect decided to look for a police station and surrendered to the authorities.

The attacker’s attitude of presenting himself after the crime is a point that is being analyzed by the investigation. The sequence of events – escape, attempts to change appearance and, finally, surrender – is typical in cases where criminals seek to alleviate their own legal situation. However, the confession of the crime and the evidence collected are overwhelming.

Andamento investigations and legal implications

Natan of Souza Brito was charged with the crime of feminicide. Ele remains arrested and at the disposal of Justiça, awaiting the next developments in the process. Até the last update of this report, the man had not appointed a lawyer. Polícia Civil continues with investigations, seeking to clarify all the details and circumstances surrounding Thainara Cavalcante’s murder.

Cases of femicide continue to be a central concern for authorities and society. Brazilian legislation provides for severe penalties for this type of crime, which is motivated by the victim being a woman. The mobilization around the protection of women against violence is an urgent issue in the country.
