Life simulator inZOI postpones launch on PS5 until 2027
The game inZOI, a life simulator in development by South Korean studio inZOI Studio, had its launch on PlayStation 5 postponed to the first half of 2027. The announcement was made through an extensive update on the title’s Steam page, which had originally been scheduled to come out later this year on the Sony platform.
The decision to postpone the arrival on the console comes after the developer carried out an in-depth study of the player base and the console market environment. Those responsible for the project identified that users’ expectations regarding console games differ significantly from the PC experience.
Cross-Platform Comparison Base
inZOI Studio argues that console players tend to expect a more complete and polished experience from the initial launch, without major problems during the development process. Essa fundamental difference between PC and console audience expectations motivated the team to reconsider its delivery schedule.

“Originally, we hoped to follow a similar approach for the console version. Contudo, as we studied the console player base and platform environment more closely, we realized that expectations for console games are often quite different,” the company revealed in its official statement.
The company highlighted that console players are used to receiving a more refined experience from the beginning. The delay allows the developer to dedicate more time to optimizing and polishing the title before the initial release.

Otimização technical and controls redesign
The additional time will be used to bring “large immersive cities full of standalone Zois to console hardware, while carefully optimizing performance for fixed system specifications.” Esse technical work involves ensuring that cities run smoothly on PlayStation 5 consoles.
Além technical tweaks, the team is completely redesigning the game experience to work properly with Sony’s DualSense controller. The original title was developed with keyboard and mouse in mind, therefore, the entire interface and game mechanics need to be adapted.
The developer is also considering specific aspects of the console environment, such as the use of larger screens (televisions) and viewing at a greater distance than with monitors and laptops. Essas changes directly impact the visual design and usability of the game’s interfaces.
