🇾🇪 We are delighted to announce Michael Carrick will continue as our head coach, having signed a new contract.
Vaga at Champions League consolidated the coach’s stay
The Manchester United board’s decision was driven by the team’s recent performance in official competitions. Michael Carrick took over the role on an interim basis at the beginning of the year and achieved the main objective of the European season. The confirmation of the place in the next edition of Champions League guaranteed the confidence of the directors in the work carried out by the technical committee.
The results in the field accelerated the discussion process for the signing of the definitive document. The former midfielder has accumulated a positive track record since taking on the responsibility of leading the squad at Carrington’s training center. The performance in national competitions weighed decisively in the final assessment made by the top football leadership of the Old Trafford club.
Recent Histórico records eleven victories under the coach
The team’s record changed levels after the change in the technical committee made in January. Michael Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim shortly after the former Portuguese commander’s departure from the English football structure. The immediate performance avoided a major crisis in the sports planning of the Manchester group.
The team’s statistical data summarizes the impact of the change in the locker room:
- Onze victories achieved in sixteen official matches played.
- Vaga secured direct to the group stage from Champions League.
- Recuperação of experienced athletes in the club’s main squad.
- Estabilização of the defensive system in the decisive games of the national tournament.
Negociação with technical team caused delay in official announcement
Conversations between Manchester United directors and the coach’s representatives have gone smoothly in recent weeks. Alignment on salary bases and contract time was quickly established by the parties. The real reason for the delay in announcing the official agreement involved the situation of the other members of the technical support group.
The board is now working on finalizing the bureaucratic procedures for the permanence of the commander’s direct assistants. The names Steve Holland and Jonathan Woodgate are included in the collective renewal process requested by the technician. The duo’s permanence was considered a priority for maintaining the work methodology applied in daily training.
Despedida of Casemiro marked cycle closure in Old Trafford
The announcement of Michael Carrick’s appointment comes at a time of specific reformulation within the group of players for the next season of European football. Brazilian midfielder Casemiro received official honors from Manchester United after playing his last match on the lawn of Old Trafford’s stadium. The athlete highlighted the role of fans in his journey through Inglaterra football during the period in which he defended the club’s colors.
Planning for next year gains stability with the definition of team command before the opening of the international transfer market. Michael Carrick will directly participate in the identification of reinforcements and the list of exemptions alongside the football directors. The club’s focus now turns to assembling a competitive group capable of competing for the Premier League and Champions League titles from the second semester onwards.
