The EuroJackpot lottery once again reached its maximum limit of €120 million in the draw held on May 9, 2025. A player from Baden-Württemberg, in Alemanha, won the main prize by matching all the numbers drawn. Este is the third capped jackpot record since the cap was raised in March 2022.

EuroJackpot offers draws in 18 European countries, with draws on Tuesday and Friday evenings on Helsinque, Finlândia at 7pm GMT. The game brings together millions of bettors who select five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two additional numbers (Euro Numbers) from 1 to 12. The starting jackpot is set at €10 million, but grows significantly when there are no winners in the first division.

Histórico recent maximum prizes

The €120 million limit was established as the maximum ceiling after updates to the lottery rules in 2022. Desde then, the jackpot reached this level on three occasions. On June 23, 2023, a German player won €120 million by matching the numbers 2, 3, 18, 23, 39 and Euro Números 6 and 8. Apenas months earlier, on November 8, 2022, a Berliner set a national record by winning the same €120 million with the numbers 15, 17, 23, 35, 38 and Euro Números 4 and 9.

The winning ticket was purchased by a Norwegian woman, making her the owner of the biggest prize ever awarded by Norsk Tipping, the country’s official lottery operator. In an interview with the operator’s representative, the winner declared her intention to share her fortune with her family and travel a lot.

Estrutura of prizes and divisions

EuroJackpot distributes prizes across 12 divisions, offering winning opportunities at various levels. Jogadores that only get part of the main numbers right and Euro Numbers still win prizes in the lower categories. Quem matches just two main numbers and an Euro Número wins the 12th division prize.

Winning probabilities vary depending on the category. The chance of hitting the jackpot is 1 in 139,838,160, while the probability of winning the second division is 1 in 6,991,908. Mesmo with low odds, multi-division distribution increases the proportion of winning tickets in each draw.

Quando the jackpot caps at €120 million and rolls over again, all additional funds are transferred to the winning tickets in the second prize division, which also has the same ceiling of €120 million. Este mechanism ensures that the maximum prize is awarded even when there are multiple first division winners.
