GTA 6 maintains launch on November 19, confirms Take-Two CEO
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, dismissed speculation about the delay of Grand Theft Auto 6 during a presentation to investors this week. The executive reaffirmed that the game is still scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, ending days of rumors in the gaming community.
The confirmation came after an anonymous post published on 4chan claimed that GTA 6 would be delayed until February 2027, with the PC version arriving in May of the same year. The post, which claimed to come from someone with close ties to Rockstar Games, further stated that the delay would be officially announced during the Take-Two earnings meeting held on Thursday, May 21.
Official Confirmação ends speculation
“I think reiterating November 19th as the launch date today is probably a positive thing. Temos has been very clear that we will launch the title on November 19th,” Zelnick told investors during the earnings call. The statement was made beyond doubt, completely rejecting the claims of the viral rumor.
Grand Theft Auto 6 has already faced two previous postponements. The game was moved from 2025 to May 2026 and then to November of the same year. Apesar from past delays, this week’s confirmation signaled stability in the development schedule.
Expectativa for pre-sales and marketing
The rumor gained strength in a context of accumulated anticipation. An email leak from American retailer Best Buy confirmed the start of pre-sales for the previous week, but pre-orders did not launch on the dates indicated. Quando remained silent, fans interpreted the delay as a possible indication of a new problem — an interpretation that fueled the theory circulating on 4chan.
Zelnick also confirmed that the GTA 6 marketing campaign will begin in the summer. Fãs must wait “a few weeks” before seeing new official materials. A third trailer, awaited for more than a year since the second, should be part of this promotional movement.
Edições and possible price
Três versions of the game will be available for pre-order:
- Limited Collector’s Edição
- Versão digital standard
- Versão physical pattern
Analistas speculate that GTA 6 could cost up to US$100, approximately R$500, to the consumer. Zelnick has already publicly predicted that many people will miss work on launch day to play the title.
The most expensive game in history
Grand Theft Auto 6 is the sequel to GTA 5, released in 2013. The new title is considered by analysts to be the most expensive game ever produced. Seu development involved significant resources from Rockstar Games, consolidating the franchise as one of the biggest bets in the gaming industry in recent years.
The global launch is scheduled for November 19, 2026, with initial exclusivity for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The PC version will be released later.
