Japanese automaker Honda has released the official photo gallery of the new WR-V EXL. The model represents the top-of-the-line version of the brand’s entry-level sports utility vehicle in the Brazilian market. The manufacturer is betting on a robust package of safety equipment and the efficiency of the flex engine to attract consumers. The vehicle arrives at dealerships with the mission of consolidating the company’s presence in the competitive compact utility vehicle segment.

The strategic positioning places the car immediately below the HR-V in the national portfolio. Production takes place in the Honda industrial complex located in the city of Itirapina, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The commercial strategy aims to serve customers who seek ample internal space without giving up the compact dimensions ideal for urban traffic. The project focuses on delivering versatility for daily use and comfort for long trips with the family.

Design exterior and dimensions of the SUV

The look of the EXL version adopts a striking identity with aerodynamic lines and exclusive design elements. The front features a fully LED optical assembly, ensuring greater nighttime visibility and a technological aspect to the vehicle. The fog lights also use LED technology and are part of the front bumper with a refined finish. The aesthetic seeks to balance robustness and sophistication on Brazilian streets. The daytime running lights give the model an unmistakable light signature.

The dimensions of the utility vehicle confirm its vocation for space and practicality. The total length reaches 4.33 meters, while the width measures 1.79 meters. The height of the body is 1.65 meters. The free space in relation to the ground measures 22.4 centimeters, a fundamental feature for overcoming ditches, speed bumps and common imperfections on the country’s roads without scraping the bottom. The roof has longitudinal bars that allow the installation of additional luggage racks. The light alloy wheels are 17 inches, shod with 215/55 tires, and feature an exclusive design for this configuration.

Espaço internal and embedded technology package

The cabin’s finish mixes high-quality materials to increase the occupants’ feeling of comfort while traveling. The seats are covered in a combination of leather and synthetic material with precise stitching. The digital and automatic air conditioning system includes ventilation outlets directed to the second row of seats. Ergonomics was prioritized in the development of the dashboard and the arrangement of central controls, facilitating the driver’s access to all of the car’s functions.

Carrying capacity meets family needs with ample clearance. The trunk holds 458 liters in standard configuration. The complete folding of the rear seats, which have a 60/40 split, increases the useful volume to up to 1,466 liters. The compartment allows the transport of long and bulky objects with ease, making the vehicle suitable for extended trips or transporting large purchases.

Connectivity represents one of the pillars of the EXL version in the current market. The instrument panel combines easy-to-read analogue dials with a configurable 7-inch TFT digital screen. The center of the panel houses the multimedia center with a 10-inch high-resolution touchscreen. The system offers wireless integration with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay applications. The center console provides high-speed USB ports for quickly charging electronic devices during urban or highway journeys.

Especificações mechanical assembly and performance

The vehicle is powered by a modern 1.5 DI i-VTEC flex engine with natural aspiration. The four-cylinder, 16-valve block delivers 126 horsepower at 6,200 revolutions per minute. Torque reaches 15.8 kgfm when fueled with ethanol and 15.5 kgfm with gasoline, always at 4,600 revolutions per minute. The fuel tank holds 44 liters, ensuring adequate autonomy for mixed use.

The mechanical set has the following main characteristics for the national market:

  • Motorização 1.5 flex with advanced direct fuel injection system.
  • Transmissão automatic CVT type focused on energy efficiency.
  • Simulação seven-speed electronics for sequential manual shifting.
  • Aletas positioned behind the steering wheel for quick gear changes.
  • Peso in running order officially stipulated at 1,278 kilos.

The CVT transmission focuses on smooth driving and maximum fuel economy. The system continuously adjusts the gear ratio to keep the engine at the ideal speed in any road situation. The driver can use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel for a more dynamic and sporty experience on highways. Accelerator calibration prioritizes linear responses in urban traffic. The suspension uses the traditional McPherson strut at the front and a torsion beam at the rear, a reliable standard for the category.

Equipamentos Safety and Factory Warranty

Active and passive safety receive special attention in this top-of-the-line configuration from the automaker. The model leaves the factory equipped with the Honda Sensing package, which brings together advanced driving assistance technologies. The system uses high-precision cameras and sensors to monitor traffic and help the driver prevent accidents. The body structure uses high-strength steel to intelligently dissipate energy in the event of severe impacts.

The technological assistance package includes adaptive cruise control, which maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front fully automatically. The lane keeping system slightly corrects the direction if the car starts to leave the lane without first activating the turn signal. The collision mitigation brake acts autonomously to reduce speed or stop the vehicle completely in the face of an imminent obstacle. The utility vehicle also features standardized ISOFIX anchorages for the safe installation of child seats in the rear seat.

Occupant protection includes six airbags strategically distributed throughout the cabin, covering front, side and curtain bags. The utility vehicle has parking sensors and a reversing camera with dynamic lines to facilitate maneuvering in confined spaces. The brakes feature a state-of-the-art anti-lock system and electronic brake distribution. Traction and stability control works continuously to keep the car’s trajectory steady on slippery surfaces or sharp curves.

The manufacturer offers a six-year unlimited mileage warranty for the Brasil model. The commercial policy aims to convey absolute confidence to consumers and increase the value of the vehicle in the future pre-owned market. The comprehensive equipment package, combined with the brand’s historic reputation, forms the main selling arguments against direct competitors in the fierce compact SUV segment. The strategy seeks to consolidate the company’s technological leadership among premium entry-level vehicles.
