South Korean manufacturer Samsung officially presented the Galaxy S26 family of smartphones during a global event held in the city of São Francisco, at Estados Unidos. The new devices arrive on the Brazilian market in the first half of February 2026, with updates aimed at energy efficiency, graphics processing and integration of native software tools. No Brasil, the entry-level version of the device, has a suggested price starting at R$7,499 in the configuration with 256 GB of internal space.

The transition from the previous line to the current generation prioritizes the refinement of daily functions over drastic changes in physical format. The portfolio maintains the division between the standard variants, Plus and Ultra. The company’s strategy aims to meet growing demands for data privacy and greater autonomy of continuous use. The factory-built Android 16 operating system manages the new hardware capabilities of the devices and optimizes battery consumption.

Arquitetura processing and hardware performance

The internal architecture of cell phones presents strategic divisions of components according to the model chosen by the consumer. The Galaxy S26 and S26+ versions mark the return of the Exynos 2600 chip, developed by the manufacturer itself with 2 nanometer lithography. The component has a ten-core structure and reaches a maximum speed of 3.8 GHz. The integrated graphics processing unit receives specific optimizations to speed up complex tasks and the execution of heavy everyday applications.

The scenario changes in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which exclusively adopts the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in all global markets. The Qualcomm chip delivers superior clock speeds and demonstrates high performance in preliminary stress tests. The most expensive version of the series offers up to 16 GB of RAM in the upper configurations, while the basic models operate with 12 GB of RAM.

The combination of fast memories and updated processors guarantees fluidity when switching between dozens of applications open simultaneously. Users who work with high-resolution video editing or play games with advanced three-dimensional graphics will find greater thermal stability in the Ultra version, thanks to an expanded cooling system with a vapor chamber. The standard model focuses on the balance between energy consumption and response speed for daily activities.

Modificações structural and screen specifications

The visual aspect of the series has undergone millimetric adjustments to improve ergonomics during prolonged handling. The base Galaxy S26 has a 6.3-inch screen, a small increase over the previous generation’s 6.2-inch panel. The chassis thickness has dropped to 6.9 millimeters. The Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels works in conjunction with the Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology and the variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

The Ultra variant introduces a first-of-its-kind vision protection technology called Privacy Display. The feature uses software algorithms to darken the screen when viewed from side angles. The functionality prevents people nearby from reading messages or viewing sensitive documents in public environments. The 6.9-inch panel maintains Quad HD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels with high brightness for use in direct sunlight.

Storage specifications have also undergone important changes in this generation to support the volume of system and user data. Key changes include:

  • Fim of the 128 GB version on entry models.
  • Minimum Capacidade set at 256 GB for the entire series.
  • Opções expansion up to 1TB in Ultra variant.
  • Uso of UFS 4.0 standard for fast file reading.

The decision to double the internal space meets the demand generated by the growing size of applications and media files. Professionals who use their smartphones as their main work tool gain a margin of safety in local storage. The adoption of the UFS 4.0 standard guarantees extremely high data transfer rates, which reduces loading times for heavy games and speeds up the export of 4K and 8K videos. The exclusion of the 128 GB version reflects the need to accommodate the operating system and native tools without compromising the consumer experience in the first few months of use.

Configurações photographic and generative editing

The photographic set of the S26 and S26+ models preserves the three-lens structure on the rear. The 50 MP main sensor works alongside a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10 MP telephoto lens with three times optical zoom. The manufacturer focused its efforts on digital image processing. A new 24 MP capture mode reduces visual noise and delivers photographs with colors closer to reality.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra concentrates the biggest leaps forward in photographic hardware specifications. The 200 MP main lens has a larger aperture in the diaphragm to absorb more light in night scenes. The ultra-wide-angle camera has jumped to 50 MP. The telephoto lens also adopts a 50 MP sensor with five times optical zoom, which enables the spatial zoom feature of up to 100x with less loss of definition.

The camera software incorporates advanced generative editing capabilities. The system allows you to remove unwanted objects from the background of the photo or fill in empty spaces after reframing the image. Video recording reaches 8K resolution with improved optical stabilization. Motion portrait mode tracks the subject’s face and applies real-time background blur with greater precision to hairlines and fine contours. Todo this processing occurs locally on the device, which guarantees greater privacy for user data, since images do not need to be sent to cloud servers to receive artificial intelligence modifications.

Capacidade energy and features of Android 16

The energy capacity of the devices has been increased to support the continuous processing of smart tools. The standard Galaxy S26 houses a 4,300 mAh battery, surpassing the 4,000 mAh found in the previous model. Charging via cable supports 25 W of power. The S26+ model maintains the 4,900 mAh tank with a 45 W recharge. The Ultra version maintains the 5,000 mAh, but increases the charging speed to 60 W, reaching 75% charge in 30 minutes.

The One UI 8.5 runs on top of the Android 16 and expands the presence of the Galaxy AI platform in the system. The virtual assistant acts proactively through the Nudge function, which suggests actions based on the screen context. The software performs simultaneous translations during phone calls without relying on an internet connection. The system also monitors message patterns to alert the user about possible financial fraud attempts.

The migration from the previous series to the S26 family benefits consumers who prioritize battery life and automated productivity tools. Telephone operators are already preparing commercial packages with support for 5G networks to boost sales of new devices in the national market. The complete portfolio seeks to consolidate the brand’s position in the premium device segment throughout 2026, offering options ranging from advanced basic use to extreme professional requirements.
