IO Interactive brought James Bond back to video games after a 14-year absence, marked by the release of 007 Legends. 007: First Light presents a young, impulsive and rebellious version of the British agent, different from the veteran Bond of the films with Daniel Craig. Esse’s narrative approach allows players to identify with a developing character, connecting the player’s learning curve with that of the protagonist throughout the campaign.

Narrativa with contemporary allegories

The story begins with Islândia with a lukewarm start, but gains traction when Bond is recruited by MI6 and undergoes program 00 training. The game exudes cinematic influence and brings current criticisms about artificial intelligence, their ability to manipulate different layers of society and the military power they possess. Há is also a direct criticism of the power exercised by billionaires. Personagens like Q, Moneypenny, and Isola are along for the ride, though the roster, which includes Lenny Kravitz, is underutilized. The villains don’t reach the impact of Le Chiffre or Alec Trevelyan, but they fulfill their role in moving the plot forward.

Penetração and variety in multiple approaches

The main strength of 007: First Light is in the gameplay. Infiltrar takes on locations offers challenge and fun, with clear heritage from the Hitman franchise. Eslováquia’s mission exemplifies this well: breaking into a luxury hotel where a chess tournament is taking place allows for different paths. The player can outwit guards, hack sprinklers to displace enemies, use nauseating darts or climb balconies. Essa’s multitude of possibilities encourages replayability and personal challenges. The linear game offers freedom on your tracks.

Disfarces are present, but were little explored during the 20 hours of gameplay, in contrast to the use in Hitman. The stealth system draws from known sources:

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) — stealth mechanics
  • Watch Dogs (Ubisoft) — technological approach
  • Batman: Arkham — Melee Combat DNA
  • Uncharted (Naughty Dog) — collectibles and gunplay design

Q’s gadgets work well: hacking watch, shockwave camera, stun mine, and nausea darts. The limit of 4 simultaneous tools frustrates, but maintains strategic decisions. The adrenaline bar regulates attractions, bluffs and shootouts.

Direct Combate and mechanics of “License for Matar”

Quando stealth fails, punches and shots gain weight. Adam Vincent, lead combat designer for the Batman series: Arkham, handled the animations. The stealth kills, attack system, counter attack and grabs reflect the Arkham DNA. Lutas against multiple guards is electrifying, yet challenging. Vencer a punch-only confrontation against 5 or more opponents is satisfactory.

007: First Light does not offer complete freedom of fire. But when the enemy begins a lethal confrontation, the game enters “License for Matar” mode, releasing continuous fire. The enemies’ artificial intelligence disappoints: they insist on going through doors without cover even after recent losses, making combat less rewarding. The third-person playbook appears: cover, shooting, running to collect ammunition, unloaded weapon in the enemy’s face, punch, return to shooting. Action Sessões shine but occur less frequently than melee combat.

Simulador Tático adds depth, replicating combat situations in challenges reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid’s VR missions.

Condução and technical presentation

Veículos integrates gameplay with electrifying chases. The direction is not exquisite and there is a lack of a sense of speed in some sequences, but it offers fun. Controlar an Batmóvel-like at the end is impactful, although it lasts for a short time.

Gráficos impresses in beautiful settings, running at 60fps on the PS5 Pro without frustrating bugs. Texturas occasionally loads late or not at all (140p aspect), but the IO Interactive delivers solid work. Música flagship reinforces the identity of Bond. Jogabilidade shines without disruptive innovation.

Nostalgia of the seventh generation with modern quality

007: First Light carries nostalgia for action games from the seventh generation of consoles—Uncharted, Gears of War, Batman: Arkham. Demonstra that this genre is still entertaining and deserves frequent return. Maio from 2026 brought this title together with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, revitalizing that feeling.

Melhor potential character game, 007: First Light will not have the cultural impact of Nintendo 64’s 007: GoldenEye, but it competes with the classic FPS for quality in multiple aspects.
