Samsung, Google and Apple have been raising the prices of their most advanced smartphones for months, while Xiaomi is moving in the opposite direction: it offers devices that on paper look like flagships, but don’t charge as such. The Xiaomi 15T represents the latest proof of this approach: 6.83-inch AMOLED screen, Leica-certified triple camera set, Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor and 67 W fast charging. Now, on Xiaomi’s official store on AliExpress, with the RAZONES45 coupon, the device enters a price range where the Pixel 9 and Galaxy S25 are much more expensive.

Dimensity 8400 Ultra and Leica: the combination that previously did not fit into this category

The Dimensity 8400 Ultra is not the Snapdragon 8 Elite nor the Apple A18 Pro. This needs to be clear. But, for most people’s uses, such as applications, streaming, photography and moderate games, the practical difference appears more in benchmarks than in everyday life. What you really notice in everyday life is the Leica signature on the camera. This is not a merely decorative logo: the image processing, color profiles and optics were co-developed with the German brand, including an exclusive street photography mode created by Leica, in the same way as on the Xiaomi 15 Pro or high-end Huawei. On a phone that competes on price with the Pixel 9, this is a game changer.

The 6.83-inch screen with AMOLED panel represents another highlight. In full summer sun, a well-calibrated AMOLED performs better than almost any LCD in its category. The 7.5 mm thickness also demonstrates restraint at a time when cell phones in this range are starting to approach 8-9 mm.

67 W versus Samsung’s 25 W: charging really makes a difference here

The 67 W fast charging is one of the aspects that most differentiates the 15T from direct competition in this price range. The base Galaxy S25 charges at 25W in its default configuration. The Pixel 9 also doesn’t stand out for its recharge speed. At 67 W, the 15T goes from zero to a comfortable level of use in less than half an hour: that counts for a lot if you leave the house with 20% battery and have ten minutes to spare.

The 12GB of RAM and 256GB of base storage are generous for this segment. Anyone coming from a cell phone from two or three previous generations, like a Xiaomi 12, a Samsung A55 or any mid-range from 2022, will feel the jump. Anyone who already has a Xiaomi 14T Pro or a more recent Pixel 9 will probably not have a strong reason to switch: the 14T Pro already delivers faster charging (120 W), and the Pixel 9 has the advantage of seven years of support for updates from Google.

Three variants and global version

The 15T arrives in three configurations: Gray 12/256 GB, Gray 12/512 GB and Black 12/512 GB. The global version offers compatibility with European bands, which matters if you don’t want to rely on a modified ROM.

What differentiates the 15T from what just the technical sheet shows

In this market range there are several devices with AMOLED, fast charging and a high-end label; On paper, it is difficult to separate them. The 15T stands out when you stop looking at the sheet and look at the camera’s results: that’s where a Galaxy S25 or an iPhone 15 charges more without always having an advantage. And purchased from the official Xiaomi store, with a global version and European warranty, the argument is difficult to dispute.
