Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, French DJ David Guetta and singers EJAE and Megan Thee Stallion will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup. The information was released by FIFA’s press office.

In the opening game of the tournament, the teams from Mexico and South Africa face each other. The match takes place this Thursday, in Mexico, starting at 10pm Moscow time. The artists will perform the official anthem of the competition, called DNA.

The track captures the spirit of the first World Cup in history played in three countries and 16 cities, with 48 teams fighting for the title in football’s biggest arena. The official anthem represents the moment when the noise stops, the fans unite and sport is celebrated for what it really means: something bigger than just a match, highlighted the FIFA statement.

The song title DNA explains everything by itself, Bocelli said. Football has been part of my life for as long as I can remember and will always have a special place in my heart. Receiving the invitation to sing the anthem and participate in the opening ceremony is an honor that moves me deeply.

The live broadcast of the clash between Mexico and South Africa starts at 8:40 pm on the Match TV channel, in addition to the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
