Brad Pitt has another daughter who wants to take his last name. Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, 21, filed a request in court to legally change her name and keep just Jolie.
According to what was released, the young woman seeks to leave her father’s surname. She becomes the third daughter of the former Hollywood couple to take this initiative in recent times.
Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, daughter of actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, filed a formal request to change her name to remove “Pitt” from her surname, according to documents obtained by the press.
Court records in Los Angeles indicate that she wants to change her name to Zahara Marley Jolie. The decision follows a similar measure taken by her younger sister, Shiloh Jolie, who also dropped “Pitt” from her surname in June 2024.
A source close to the Fight Club actor stated that Pitt blames his ex-wife for his children’s separation. Although the request was recently filed, Zahara had been avoiding using “Pitt” for some time. This was evident at her graduation last month, when the presenter called her Zahara Marley Jolie.
Pitt and Jolie married in 2014 and separated two years later. Even so, they had already built their family long before the wedding. The former couple have six children: Maddox Chivan Jolie (24 years old), Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt (22), Zahara Marley Jolie (21), Shiloh Nouvel (20) and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline (17). They formed their family through three adoptions and three biological births over six years, between 2002 and 2008.
The Maleficent actress adopted Maddox in 2002 and Zahara in 2005, while still a single mother. Pitt later joined the family and formally adopted Jolie’s two children. The couple then had their first biological daughter, Shiloh, in 2006, adopted Pax in 2007 and, a year later, welcomed twins Knox and Vivienne.
The protagonists of Mr. and Mrs. Smith exchanged rings in 2014, but filed for divorce in 2016. In legal documents from 2022, Jolie accused Pitt of assaulting her and two children during a private flight. After eight years of legal disputes, the couple finalized their divorce in 2024.
