Manchester City attacking midfielder Claudio Echeverri is unlikely to be loaned to Flamengo in the next transfer window. According to Argentine journalist Germán García Grova, the English club does not welcome the young man’s return to South American football at this time.

Echeverri, 20, is currently on loan at Girona in Spain. He has already played for Bayer Leverkusen and, before that, for River Plate. City understands that the player’s development must continue in Europe, prioritizing high-level competitions on the Old Continent.

Flamengo had been speculating the Argentine’s name as a possible reinforcement for the remainder of the season. Clubs like Bahia and River Plate themselves are also monitoring the situation. However, the firm position of the English cooled down conversations with Mengão.

Flamengo seeks occasional reinforcements

In parallel, the red and black board remains active in the market to reinforce the squad. Coach Leonardo Jardim has demanded specific characteristics from the team: technique, speed and physical intensity, especially given the strain of a long season with a tight schedule.

The idea is to bring in specific players who can contribute immediately, without major changes. After irregular results, the club evaluates gaps in the group and plans surgical moves.

Negotiation for Ayrton Lucas advances with conditions

At the same time, Flamengo is discussing the possible departure of Ayrton Lucas. Santos showed interest in the left-back, and conversations are evolving. Rubro-Negro accepts the loan, but imposes a clear condition: obligation to purchase at the end of the contract.

Peixe prefers a purchase option, while the player’s staff is already aligned with the destination. Flamengo’s demand aims to guarantee financial security and prevent the athlete from returning without compensation.

This move is part of a larger plan by the board to balance the payroll and make room for new hires.
