Singer Anitta traveled on Tuesday night (9) to Los Angeles, in the United States, where she will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup this Friday (12). The show takes place about 90 minutes before the opening game between the United States and Paraguay at SoFi Stadium.
Her absence from the tournament’s opening events, which began on Wednesday in Mexico, drew attention online. The 2026 World Cup will feature separate ceremonies in the three host countries: Mexico, the United States and Canada. Anitta is part of the lineup for the American stage.
Alongside Katy Perry, Future, LISA, Rema and Tyla, the Brazilian will perform “Goals”, a partnership launched in May that is part of the competition’s official album. The track mixes Latin pop, K-pop and afrobeats and will be performed live for the first time.
During the flight, Anitta shared animated stories on Instagram. Dressed in the national team’s shirt, she improvised a relaxed rap and celebrated the highlight of her career.
Participation was confirmed by FIFA last year. For the Brazilian public, the show represents an unprecedented opportunity to see funk on a global football stage, broadcast live by FOX and partners.
With rehearsals underway at SoFi Stadium, anticipation is growing among fans. The presentation reinforces Anitta’s international moment.
