Pokémon Center's Pitch Black - reprodução

Pre-orders for the Mega Evolution — Pitch Black collection are already live at Pokémon Center, but the official launch will only take place on July 17, 2026. Thousands of fans try to secure exclusive Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles and Displays, facing long virtual queues and frequent errors on the website.

The new set features more than 115 cards, highlighting Mega Darkrai ex and several special illustrations. The collection is the Western version of the Japanese Abyss Eye, known for elaborate artwork by artists such as Mina Nakai, Yuka Morii and others.

What’s available for pre-order

Key products include 11-pack Elite Trainer Boxes, 6-pack Booster Bundles, individual packs and 36-pack display boxes. The Pokémon Center imposes strict limits per household, typically two ETBs and smaller quantities of other items. The exclusive versions of the website come with different packaging, a special seal and two promotional cards.

Why Pokémon Center ETBs are worth it

Official Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Boxes contain more boosters than those sold at other retailers and are not reprinted. This causes them to gain significant value on the secondary market over time, especially for collectors and resellers.

Tips for being able to buy

Experts and fans recommend accessing the site via a computer with a wired connection. Clear cookies before logging in, use only one tab, and avoid incognito or VPN mode. Navigate slowly, counting a few seconds between clicks, and enter all data manually, without autofill. Always start with the home page, never with a direct product link.

The wait time shown in the queue is an estimate only and can vary quickly. Many people are able to complete their purchase even after hours in line, thanks to the site’s large inventory.

Most common errors and how to deal with them

Error 15 appears frequently during spikes in access and generally does not mean a ban. Clearing cache, cookies and in some cases restarting the router helps. Error 17 indicates detection as a bot and can block pre-sale purchases. Some users report success when trying with another email and payment method, but it doesn’t always work.

When the website says that the product is unavailable in the cart, it is worth trying the “cart trick”: accessing the item page, going to the cart first and then returning to the product without excessively reloading.

Alternatives if you can’t get it at Pokémon Center

Prereleases in local stores begin from July 4, 2026, with Build & Battle Boxes that allow you to play before the official launch. Many game stores offer tickets with boosters and exclusive promotional cards. Participating in events is also a guaranteed way to obtain cards before July 17th.

Despite the difficulties, expectations are high for the set, which features superior art to that of recent expansions and a focus on Pokémon such as Armarouge, Primarina, Zarude and the iconic Mega Darkrai.
