Gabryel Junio de Almeida Dirceu, aged 20, confessed to having murdered Josivany Borges de Amorim Rodriguesa, aged 45, in Várzea Grande (MT), on the first day of this month. The suspect admitted to the Civil Police that he set fire to the victim while she was still alive, after she refused to have sex with him.

Delegate Jéssica Assis reported that the person being investigated narrated an alleged agreement with Josivany so that the two would have sex in exchange for drugs and money. However, according to Gabryel, the victim would not have fulfilled this condition.

The attacker’s narrative indicates that Josivany started a physical fight with him. In response, Gabryel stabbed her and hit her with fragments of a stone sink, material that was later found by forensic experts next to the body. The escalation of violence also included alleged sexual abuse, leaving the woman lying and seriously injured.

After the attack, Gabryel allegedly asked for money on the streets to buy a liter of gasoline. He then returned to where Josivany was and set the victim’s body on fire. Security cameras recorded the moment the suspect carried the can of fuel.
