Chipotle celebrates football tournament with ‘buy one, get one’ and launches exclusive 53-unit shirt

Chipotle Mexican Grill announces a special celebration for football fans, introducing a “buy one, get one free” campaign at its restaurants in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The exclusive offer will take place on June 11th, starting at 3pm local time, coinciding with one of the sport’s biggest international tournaments.

As part of the initiative, the restaurant chain is launching its first limited edition football shirt. Only 53 units of this exclusive item will be available to Chipotle Rewards loyalty program members through Rewards Exchange.

Rewards program participants who take advantage of the buy one, get one free promotion on the day of departure will also be rewarded with an exclusive digital badge. This seal is part of the “Rewards on Repeat” program, recently reformulated by the brand to offer more frequent benefits and greater flexibility to its members.

The global initiative seeks to amplify the passion for sport. Fans who show up at Chipotle restaurants wearing a football jersey will be entitled to a free entrée with the purchase of another as they celebrate the prestigious tournament.

Meet Chipotle’s first football jersey, inspired by the sport’s global culture

Chipotle has developed a limited edition football jersey that reflects the vibrant global sports culture and contemporary streetwear fashion. The piece displays the phrase “Real Chipotle” on the front, an allusion to the term “Real” used in historic football clubs, symbolizing legacy and distinction. In Chipotle’s view, “Real” underscores the brand’s purpose and commitment to “Food with Integrity.” The back of the shirt features the number 53, which represents the exact amount of ingredients used by the company, uniting performance style with fundamental values.

Only 53 of these shirts will be made available, accessible exclusively through the Chipotle Rewards Exchange to program members in the US. The winners will receive their shirts before the tournament’s grand final. Chipotle Rewards members can redeem 10 points for a chance to win a shirt from June 10 to June 24. You can sign up for the program via the official website and receive free chips and guacamole with eligible purchases after registration.

This “buy one, get one” game day promotion is an offshoot of the success of other Chipotle campaigns involving fan shirts. The “buy one, get one free” offer featuring hockey jerseys, for example, became the most successful themed promotion in the company’s history.

Chipotle Rewards members who join the buy one, get one free promotion on the day of departure will unlock an exclusive digital badge.
