Square Enix has released a new update for the tactical classic “Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles”, which introduces an innovative compatibility system based on characters’ zodiac signs, in addition to the long-awaited New Game+ feature. Patch 1.5.0, now available on all platforms, also incorporates several improvements to optimize the gaming experience, such as support for Korean languages in the Enhanced Edition and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
For fans who have already completed the original journey, the New Game+ feature allows you to start a new campaign while maintaining part of your previous progress, reducing repetitiveness. By opting for this modality, players transfer their unit levels and accumulated item data to the new game, offering a more dynamic and strategic start.
- With Cancer:Ramza has a special compatibility. Human units fighting alongside him receive 150% bonuses to accuracy, damage and recovery. However, if the unit is not human, these values drop to 75% of normal.
- With Aries and Libra:Ramza has low compatibility, resulting in 75% damage dealt, recovery and accuracy.
- With Taurus and Virgo:Affinity is favorable, granting a 125% bonus to damage, recovery, and accuracy.
Additionally, other features aim to improve gameplay. It is now possible to remove all of a character’s equipment at once, making it easier to reorganize groups and review units. Requirements for unlocking previously restricted classes are now more visible, and the Settings section has been expanded with new options such as Hold Auto-Proceed for cutscenes, Guaranteed Skill Enchantments for viewing skill dialogue, and Skill Cursor Memory for retaining a character’s last combat choice.
