He has a plan and a purpose for all of us. This battle is a test of my faith in Him and my character. And honestly, I am ready for it, because Allah will never give you a challenge that you are not able to overcome. Being tested is one of God’s greatest gifts.”
The player also highlighted the solidarity and support of his teammates in the national team. As he lay on the field, Canadian athletes formed a circle around him, and some, like striker Jonathan David, became emotional. Koné’s injury occurred at the beginning of the second half of the match, with Canada already leading 3-0 and with one more player.
