Jelly Roll officially comments on his split from Bunnie Xo, stating that ‘every detail revealed is true’
The Jelly Roll singer has finally spoken out about the end of his marriage to Bunnie Xo, ending a union that lasted almost a decade.
During a performance in Saratoga Springs, New York, last Thursday, June 18, the 41-year-old entertainer openly addressed his split from Bunnie, 46.
“I didn’t plan to discuss this today, but since we’re addressing the topic of untruths… the internet spreads lies,” declared Jelly Roll in a video posted on his Instagram profile. “This will be the only time and place where I will talk about the subject, so prepare your cell phones to record.”
The musician took the moment to dispel rumors about the breakup, highlighting that he and his ex-partner maintain a friendly relationship.
“My wife and I are great friends, and we will remain that way. We spoke on the phone today,” he told the audience.
“None of us were unfaithful. She even dedicated an entire podcast to the topic, which can be seen by everyone. Everything that was said is true”, added Jelly Roll, mentioning Thursday’s episode of “Dumb Blondes”, where Bunnie denied allegations of involvement with Chad Kroeger.
“She will continue to be my best friend. This is the only time I will speak out on this matter,” Jelly Roll reiterated.
The country music star concluded his speech with a message directed at Bunnie, expressing gratitude for the years they shared.
“Bunnie, my love, I love you. I thank you for this incredible decade that we have lived through. And thank you also for the next ten years of friendship and for all the decades to come”, he concluded.
Jason DeFord, known as Jelly Roll, filed for divorce from Alyssa DeFord, aka Bunnie, in the state of Tennessee on May 18, as confirmed by Us Weekly on Monday, June 15.

A few hours before the separation was announced, Bunnie had posted an image on her Instagram Stories, in which she appeared in pink lingerie, accompanied by the caption: “She’s getting her shine back.” The podcast host also released a video in which she lip-synched to Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me,” a song that is speculated to be about a troubled relationship.
Months before the divorce became official, Bunnie had already taken a stand against rumors that they were facing difficulties in their marriage.
“Someone commented the other day, ‘They used to live together, and now I never see them again,'” Bunnie reported in October 2025 on her podcast “Dumb Blonde.” “I replied, ‘Don’t you know that for the last six months I’ve been trying to get pregnant?'” referring to their well-known IVF and surrogacy journey, which the former couple has always addressed publicly.
She continued: “My husband needs to work to support our household. I, luckily, have the prerogative to work remotely, but he does not. He has a schedule of commitments to fulfill, while I have been undergoing treatment with IVF medication for six months, going through a lot of pain and difficulties.”
Jelly Roll and Bunnie met for the first time at a show in Las Vegas, in 2015. The wedding was official in August 2016, at the city’s iconic Little White Wedding Chapel.

During the same period as he married Bunnie, Jelly Roll had his son Noah Buddy, the result of a previous relationship with Melisa Ann Cowell. It is important to note that his daughter, Bailee Ann, born from his union with Felicia Beckwith, came into the world while the singer was serving a sentence for drug trafficking in 2008.
The couple Jelly Roll and Bunnie have always been transparent about the challenges and victories of their relationship. In October 2025, the “Save Me” singer publicly revealed that he had been unfaithful to Bunnie during their marriage.
