Industry survey predicts that the iPhone 18 Pro will hit stores with a much higher price
Recent statements by Tim Cook suggest an increase in the prices of Apple’s next models. A detailed analysis, published by consultancy TechInsights, now attempts to estimate the production costs and likely sales prices of iPhone 18 line devices.
Based on data from the technology giant’s supplier sector, the study points out that the cost of the 12 GB RAM memory, present in the iPhone 17 Pro, which was just US$39 the previous year, suffered a significant increase, reaching the US$145 mark.
The 256 GB internal storage, in turn, increased from US$13 to US$51. Estimates show that the assembly cost of an iPhone 17 Pro was approximately US$582 (around R$3,000), and it is projected that this amount could reach US$726 (equivalent to R$3,745) for the future iPhone 18 Pro.
Analyzing the 47% profit margin historically maintained by Apple, the final cost of the iPhone 18 Pro could rise from US$1,099 (approximately R$5,675) to US$1,371 (approximately R$7,073). However, amid a global scenario of rising component costs and challenges in the supply chain, the company could choose to reduce its margin to 44%, resulting in an estimated market price of US$1,299 (around R$6,707), a strategy to mitigate the total impact on the consumer.

Additionally, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro is expected to include a main camera with a variable aperture lens sensor, a technological innovation that could increase costs by approximately 50% in the photographic components sector.
According to the most unfavorable projections, the Cupertino-based manufacturer could be compelled to set the price of the 256 GB iPhone 18 Pro at US$1,399 (equivalent to R$7,218).
This value is considered extremely high, even for the United States market, which would probably result in less heated demand and slower sales.
Meanwhile, the price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is currently US$1,199 (approximately R$6,191), can be increased to up to US$1,499 (approximately R$7,734) for the 18 Pro Max version.
As usual, Apple remains silent regarding leaks and speculation. However, the company, like other large manufacturers in the sector, faces complex decisions in a scenario that will prove challenging for the coming months.
Previously, Tim Cook had mentioned in an interview that the company plans to use its robust financial reserve to ensure continuous and stable supply of components.
